Kapanen saw his first SHL action since being loaned to Timrå by the Habs. He was the 1C and had two assists in his debut.

Sam Harris and Denver on TSN3 right now. Playing North Dakota. 1-1 tie in the first.

Harris scored his NCAA leading 10th goal in the Denver win, and it was also the GWG. He actually grew up a Habs fan and admires Gallagher (and Corey Perry) as players he follows.

You don’t see this too often. Fowler lost his cool on the play, punched some guy and was ejected from the game mid way through. BC eventually lost the game. A better fight than the big hyped one last night 😂

The big guy popped his 8th of the season in a 6-5 OT loss yesterday.

Thorpe is scoring at about the same pace as in the previous year. One would like to see improvement, but he may be working on other parts of his game. The shot is still there.

Boston College at Provence on Prime Tuesday It’s on TSN2 as well right now. Logan Sawyer on Providence. Fowler serving his 1 game for punching a guy with his blocker. That guy collided with him perhaps accidentally, but it’s worth it to send that message to any future Kreiders. James Hagens is on BC too, so a chance to see a high 2025 draft pick.

TSN released it's annual team rankings of players under 24. Habs were on top (justifiably). Here's the top 10 list and the article itself www.tsn.ca/nhl/montreal-canadiens-are-no-1-in-tsn-s-annual-nhl-team-ranking-of-u-24-players-1.2207606What is of note to me, is that the list does not include Adam Engstrom Owen Beck Oliver Kapanen Luke Tuch Jayden Struble So not only do we have players with a lot of upside, we also have a ton of depth. The five guys I put forward above have either played games in the NHL or are really close to making the jump. Engstrom, for example, is 1-6-7 in 15 games for Laval and has put up a number of those points in recent games, so he is adapting. He is plus 4 and is coming along. Players like the above ensure that not only will you have a good top 6 forward group and a solid top 4 d corps, we're going to have some really solid bottom 6 and a third pair. And we hope Fowler becomes what we hope he can be. I'm going to have to wear shades.

I watched the Laval game and was severely under impressed.
Little X...moves like "a big guy". Which isn't a compliment. He'll go to the front of the net and also get physically involved, but I saw no high level play from him at all. None.
Mailman...plays in Laval the same way Matheson plays in Montreal. High offense and actually decent defense. But he doesn't kill penalties and surprisingly, not always on the first PP unit. No problem using his shot but he's no Weber. No issues with his skating and I didn't notice any butt skating. Nor any bone jarring checks. He clears the crease with lots of aggression.

Two goals for Michael Hage Friday in a 6-5 win over Penn State University. His second goal at 13:28 of the 3rd was the winning goal. He's now 7-4-11 in 10 games.

The Giants got spanked a bit last night, but at least Thorpe scored.

I had to do a double take on Hage’s stat line… he was -4 on the night. Turns out that all 5 of Hage’s points came on the PP!
I hope there weren’t a bunch of lowlights to accompany his highlights.

I don't think Hage is yet a 200 foot player and hopefully he can learn and maintain the habits needed in the defensive zone. Now, I have no idea about the -4 and how that came about. Sometimes it's just bad luck to be out there while someone else (often the goalie) is pooping the bed. It's still nice to have a guy who can score. The rest can be coached (if the right coach or assistant is around).
Thanks NWT. I'm too lazy to dig out the videos and transfer them to the post. (Honesty is the best policy).
