We MUST keep the score down to a converted touchdown.

We MUST keep the score down to a converted touchdown. Is that a one point conversion or a two? Baby steps. Baby steps.

Despite my heavy wagers I think we're still 2-3 years away from being contenders.

Yup. Missing two key guys, but I understand Robert Thomas is out for a couple of months, so the Blues will be missing a key guy too. We may be able to beat Philly next, but I think the Blues take us. I can see a .333 win percentage for a while until we add some coaching expertise to sort out the defensive discipline. Marty's got to suck in some ego and face reality.

I think i repeated several times that i had an owner who EVERY day demanded to know how i made the company better? And if i was worth my fancy salary.
He was in his late 60s, i was in my late 20s. I had about 300 employees and 20 million sales.
At the time i thought he was a bit annoying and in the beginning i didn't see his big picture. It was all about "training me" to constantly question what I'm doing and if what I'm doing is the best that can be done.
He was ABSOLUTELY right and i did have to adjust a few "innefective" (some were wrong, a few were stupid) policies/decisions.
This is EXACTLY what Marty needs but i seriously doubt that Mol$on is coming into the dressing room or coaches meeting and asking that question. Or ANY questions.
So good luck to us. It can get a hell of a lot more uglier...or if Marty is really smart, he will adjust sooner rather then later. It certainly wont be because Mol$on is a brilliant CEO.
Let's see...

Maybe they need to look at some existing AHL coaches if msl is afraid of a former head coach. I looked on Wikipedia and there are a few of guys that could be looked at. Karl Taylor with milwaukee admirals and Ryan Moungerel with the Providence bruins both have a .704 career coaching record. Also there is Todd Nelson with the Hershey bears and he has a career record of .707... Kevin Dineen with the Utica rockets has a .694 record so these 4 must be doing something right en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AHL_head_coaches

If you fear hiring someone that you think is better at your job then you are, then you are not very good at your job. Not because someone may be better, but because you put self preservation above results.

Ok, so I need all the positive mojo we, and the Habs, can muster for this game. I've been a die-hard fan since moving to the west coast as a kid and watching games in French on a black and white TV in our basement on Saturday nights. But I have never seen the Habs play a game in Montreal. On Saturday I'm crossing that off the bucket list, as I'm flying the family to Montreal to attend this game. When we made the plan, in summer, things were looking up for the Habs, but since then things couldn't have gone too much worse. I need for Marty and the team to work some things out in practice this week and come out with an inspired effort on Saturday. Also a Guhle return to the lineup would be nice. Go Habs!

Marty's got to suck in some ego and face reality. I think Martin St. Louis will finish his contract, at minimum ... however, I think he's feeling the heat ... saw "The Sick Podcast" last night and Max Lapierre wasn't holding back ... in his opinion, there has to be a time when the rebuild is over ... there's a lot more including Lapierre threatening to leave the podcast early ... (45:00)"I'm sick of this crap, Tony" - Max Lapierre

Should have seen your post first, mate ... Maxime Lapierre doesn't hold back any punches ... Cheers. Always loved Max as a player. That shortie with Dominic Moore in 2010 was a franchise highlight IMO. Back to the point...Did I say it here or maybe on Twitter, very early on, but Max is bang on. We are not a fast team. We rarely get odd many advantages on the rush, if at all. Backcheckers are always catching us. Now there are reasons for that. Dach, normally a terrific, fast skater is hobbling in his own way. Dvorak is not fast, Slaf is playing hurt, when he's playing. I could go on, but either the league has sped up, or our guys have slowed down. It's one reason, as Max says, that we get hemmed in our zone. Other guys are getting to the puck faster than us. I think Marinaro was more adamant about it, but Max agreed, the defensive structure sucks. Just another item we've been complaining about for a while with Marty. HuGo are not going to the extreme of firing him, but they should be having convos with him right now about adding a systems coach to help him with the defensive side of the game. It's been a glaring weakness for a while.

If they are going to play the old zone-pile-a-thon and off-the-glass MThead and Greene defense, might as well hire Greene and bring back Jesus Price.
Even on one leg, Jesus is better then Monty getting mauled.
MThead is also available as a water boy and jock strap adjuster.
I think BargainBin cursed us....

There are reports this week that Hughes is calling around the league looking for defensemen available in a trade. I wouldn't be surprised to see Xhekaj traded before Remembrance Day. It is pretty evident that Martin St. Louis doesn't like him ... everyone but MSL likes Jackie

They'll have to rename the team to the Montreal CanaPuffs.. So I guess -10 Dach, -7 Newhook and -5 Dvo don't need to play better? I hope he spoke to Arber and explained he's trying to be Scotty Bowman to Arbers Pete Mahovlich... I fear Marty is taking his failures out on Arber... and this team will suffer for it, more injuries more losses.

Every single team in the league knows "Martys system" and taking advantage. Have to be a blithering hockey idiot not to see them try man-to-man then collapse twenty feet from the net and struggle to get back possession. "But...but...it's the players not playing the system right". Yup, because we have Jesus Price in nets and the leagues most elite skaters breaking out from Martys cocoon. 5th goal...trying man-to-man 6th goal...zone defense...aka THE CACOON Attachments:

It's up there with "We will bomb you until you love us" I can guarantee that GMs are watching this and phoning in with bs offers.

I don't see any evidence of a system. they are atrocious defensively and the numbers bear that out. And he can't blame Xhekaj for that because he wasnt playing.
I am losing patience with this coach. His scapegoating of Xhekaj reminds me of Therrien and Subban. Right now I see a disorganized bunch of creampuffs that aren't bothered that much by embarassing losses. So yeah, lets trade the toughest guy in the room and someone that actually gives a crap.
When guys are playing like this it's time for the coach to look in the mirror.
