Buffalo is the franchise I fear the Habs will become... year after year of top draft picks including a franchise center in Eichel, yet zero playoff appearances, never mind playoff success

Buffalo is the franchise I fear the Habs will become... year after year of top draft picks including a franchise center in Eichel, yet zero playoff appearances, never mind playoff success Plus two 1OA picks - Power and Dahlin. I don't follow them closely so I can't say why this has been allowed to drag on so long there.

I don't follow them closely so I can't say why this has been allowed to drag on so long there. If you've been watching them recently, they've been on a pretty good streak. They're 6-4-0 in their last 10 and have won the last 3 games. I wonder if the corner is being turned. Their top 6 on D averages 24 years of age. More importantly, Dahlin, Power, Byram and Jokiharju (top 4?) average 23.5 years. They're just entering prime production years. Coincidence? I wonder what kind of system Lindy Ruff is using?

As you allude to seventeen, the Sabres have been playing stronger defensively and taking some pressure off the goalies. Thompson is on fire. Peterka and Tuch are producing nicely.
Montreal is going to be in tough for this afternoon tilt. If I were St. Louis, I would put the real first line back together. Go with Gallagher's line as the second. I know he will not do it, but I would have Dach centering the third line.

When will Marty realize that putting our first line back together is not only good for the present but is critical for the future. We're now dead last in the NHL standings. And it ain't just the stats that bare this out. The eye test game to game is down right ugly! Which begs the question why would this team be worse than last year's. And don't tell me it was the loss of Allen, Kovecevic, Harris, Pearson, Ylonen and Monahan. So many key players have regressed and are having terrible years: Suze, Slafs, Maths, Dach, Guhle. Suze may be playing the worst hockey of his career - so uninspired. Maths is more of a liabilty than ever before; he is currently a -9, so on pace for a -50 season. His worst ever was -24 (x2). And what's with Guihe? I think when they went in for his appendix they also removed some of his heart and thought process. This is getting very ugly and painful!

Is it a holiday in New York state? I know it's Remembrance Day in Canada but not much is closed today. Just wondering about the 12:30 start.

I just don't get the stubbornness with the 1st line. Since they have been broken up, nothing works. Dach is your #2 centre so that is where he should play. Please, Jake Evans as the 2C? No wonder they are in last place.

24 seconds after Dvorak set up Anderson nicely for a 1-0 lead, Matheson gets caught up in the play, and leaves Caufield to defend against Thompson.
1-1.

it was a rough take down but I didnt think Xhekaj deserved a penalty. I agree, Chara used to do it to smaller guys and never get called... but he was always innocent

It's nice to see savard use that big body... I think he knows he'll be moved at the TDL and wants to go to a cup contender and they always need pk'ers and guys who lays the body

WHy do they insist on carrying the puck into the o zone and turn back instead of driving the net like Hutson did

Repeat of the 1st.
Montreal scores. Buffalo less than 30 seconds later. Montreal scores. Buffalo less than 20 seconds later.
Inopportune line change creates a 2-on-1. Krebs keeps and scores.
3-2 Sabres.

I see Primeau’s save % at .700. Has he been tested with difficult shots or is he just an AHL goalie?

Matheson had time to get to that puck and took too long.
Marty’s obstinence with Matheson is hurting the team.
