I doubt it .. my guess is they asked for Latendresse or Komisarek. And I wouldn't be surprised that they wanted Ryder with one of those two. Ryder as a throw-in? Has his value sunk that low? What I truly meant was ... that if they were looking for bluechip prospect in the vein of Ryan, and Radulov. Montreal has none. We would probably have to give up two known contributers.

Ryder as a throw-in? Has his value sunk that low? Translation error ... use your Newfie dictionary, to translate to french, then back to English .. ;D Okey-dokey. What I get is, "Skilly loves Ryder." C'est correct ça ?

Sorry but Forsberg is not worth high picks. This is not Peter circa 1996 we're talking about, this is a player whose best days are far behind him. Anyone who gives up the 'future' for 'now', better think this one through. Marv Well said!

Either way - speculation from hockeybuzz is that the asking price is 2 first round picks and a young roster player. Too steep IMO.

Agreed. Considering Forsberg gets us nowhere near a Cup...
For that price, we can likely get that young blue chip defenseman the team needs so badly.

2 first rounders? I didn't know that Toronto was in the running for Forsberg. Who else but JFJ would overpay like that?

If the Flyers ask for too much perhaps will they drive away their suitors?? Forsberg with 2 points tonight as the Flyers smoke Detroit 6 - 1.

This Forsberg thing is turning into a internet circus.....
I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up staying with Philly

This Forsberg thing is turning into a internet circus..... I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up staying with Philly The latest has it that Snider asked Foppa if he's ready to sign a multi year deal to stay and his response was he wants to get the foot healthy before making a committment. So, since he has a no trade clause there's nothing anyone can do. To Bob: Personally, I'd focus my energies on other players and write off the wasted energy so far on Foppa. He's getting too expensive anyway. Call me on my cell phone after lunch. Later, homey.

But I also think Philly's bluff will be called by the other GMs.

I think that now, we can all agree that there isn't a fat chance in hell that Forsberg is coming to Montreal, cheap or not cheap...
