Sorry, but I can't imagine Clarke going for that package (Brisebois/Kilger). He may want another offensive defenseman, but he could have signed Tverdovsky as a free agent. And I wouldn't give up Plekanec. I see him replacing Perreault next season (if there is one, and if there isn't, then the next one after that).

Brisebois / Kilger is too much for Primeau ... and I don't like either player.
STOP overrating Primeau. He is not what you think he is.

Primeau has had multiple seasons of 30 goals and 25+ plus goals when used in an offensive role. He's a great two way player that is intimidating because he isn't afraid to use his large body to punish. He's been a recognized leader everywhere he played and has accepted a lesser role with Philly the day they put their hands on JR, something that certainly spells out a trooper and a team player. The guy will just turn 32 this year so he's not a geezer by any stretch of the immagination. You can dislike Primeau all you want and that's fine by me, but don't say I overrate him because I can recognize some of the quality anyone can see he has.

Wow, this thread is still going?
I like fan-fantasy threads as much as the next guy, but I'm surprised how long this one has gone on for.

He's been a recognized leader everywhere he played uhhh no he isn't. The guy is a known locker room cancer everywhere he has been. Any team that has Primeau as their captain is going nowhere ... (see the underachieving Flyers of the last 3 years).

Whether this rumor has any basis in reality or not, its easy to see why it keeps popping up. Primeau-type players are pretty much exactly what this team needs.

How many NHL locker rooms have you been in? 'Known locker room cancer'.. gimme a break. Guy is a captain. As for the second statement... yeah, it's all Primeau's fault that every Philly forward (him included) forgets how to score come mid-April and they haven't had a real goalie since Bernie Parent.

A real locker room problem for sure... only thing that's a real knock against him at this point in my book is his lack of playoff production. His playoff stats are below his season's stats. Anywhere he's been. I wouldn't go as far as calling him a choker but he certainly doesn't come out as a clutch player either.

Plus, I found that Primeau was one of the best performers for the Flyers last year in the playoffs. He may not have been the most productive points-wise, but he showed up physically. Besides, there are many other offensively gifted players on that team that should have picked up the slack. I would welcome Primeau on this team with open arms. THF

Eric '' this year is his real big break'' Chouinard a healthy scratch last night for those interested. Here's a few more newsflash for ya Marc: * Alexander "he's ready for the NHL" Perezhogin didn't make the team and has done nothing so far in the AHL * Mike "he's a Calder candidate" Komisarek has just been sent down to the minors without playing one game.

True enough Doc but Chouinard was drafted in 98 and hasn't proven anything even at the AHL level. In 29 games with the Flyers he has 8 points. Hardly a promising start. In any case, I don't know why his name keeps popping up here. It just reminds me that with a wiser pick the Habs could have had Jiri Fischer or SImon Gagne - among others.

How about we compare Chouinard to young Habs players who are in the same age group like Ribeiro, Markov, Ryder and Ward instead of players who were drafted 3 years later and are starting their 1st and 2nd pro seasons in North American hockey respectively.
Seems to me it would be a tad easier to compare..
