Is this only available to Rogers customers or do you think Bell will be able to offer the same package? We don't even have Rogers in our neck of the woods (Milton ON). Do you have cogeco? They should offer the package.

I agree with Freehab, with something so big as hockey in this country, you would think that 2 major corporation like Rogers and Bell would get their act together. I am sure there are some technical challenge to create a new package, channel etc.... but for the love of ...hockey.. get it done already and explain our options. Bell, Rogers, Cogeco, Shaw . . . all tied by the NHL and by the teams re: territorial limits. but it is pretty bad. first year of Rogers in control but you'd think they'd have a clue. The RDS package should be offered by everyone, Rogers for sure. Centre Ice is an available add-on TV package. Rogers Game Centre is the internet version of Centre Ice (I think, anyway) and is available to everyone -- looks like about $200. Stream games from computer, notebook, tablet, etc; uses data (3-5 GB a game(?) ). Download the app and somewhere make arrangements to pay.

What we really need is an underground network....... Isn't that cable? Or an "underground railroad" to free us from this corporate rule. Wouldn't be so bad if they were benevolent and competent. But how do you invest billions of dollars in a product and not provide anyone, both providers and customers, with a clue how to access and PAY for your product? Hard to believe a business model could be so poorly planned. "Hey, I know, let's buy crates and crates of lemons and open a lemonade stand. But shhh, don't tell anyone where they can buy it from us"

Isn't Microsoft a large owner of Rogers stock? That would explain the confusion. They put their programmers to work on the NHL packages.

from my contact at Rogers (who is going to look into it further): I'm fairly certain that last night's issues were because Centre Ice and Game Centre Live include regular season games, not pre-season (ie. the press release talked about 60 Habs and 54 Sens French games available in the package, which are the regular season games). That said, if that's the answer, we need to make sure the Customer Service reps have this info, and make sure it's clear in the descriptions.
Specifically re: the Newfoundland comment - Habs (and Sens) territory does absolutely include NFLD - it's all the Atlantic Provinces, Quebec, and Eastern Ontario (approx West of Belleville), so there's nothing we (Rogers) can do with the RDS games there.
again pushing all 82 games will be in RGCL though.also if the people being quoted would like to pass along their names and contact info, through you - I'll escalate and have someone contact them asap to both clarify, and if necessary, resolve the problems they're having. Let me know if that would help, and I'll try to confirm the answer re: pre-season.so there you have it. you know, if there's money involved . . . PM me with your e-mail addresses, I'll send them along, and maybe you can get an answer. barring that, come up and visit with Willie or me, and we'll enjoy a game together So if you are in the Habs area, you can only get RDS?

So if you are in the Habs area, you can only get RDS? no, if you are in the Habs area the games on RDS should not be blacked out. and if you are in the Habs area you should get the 40 national games plus the 42 regional games on SNE. as I see it, anyway. Habs Schedule

The problem with that, in time, too many people will spread it's use and it will no longer be underground.

I pay for the package so in the regular season it does not effect me...Centre Ice gave me the RDS feed that was blocked on my French channels. Curiously my niece who is on Cogeco in Niagara Falls did not get black out so I don't know what the heck is going on ...it's a mess. Why the league and or the teams want to block fans of whatever team in an region is beyond me. If you are a fan of another team especially in Canada East or West you are not switching teams let alone watching a rival because your team is blackout....give the fans what they want HOCKEY!!!!...it's crazy.

Frankly, Bell Fibe blows them out of the water. I just hope Bell is able to offer this package.

from my friend at Sportsnet:
Sounds like they want our money . . . perhaps didn't realize that there would be a backlash re: the preseason games.
Bottom line: those in the Habs area [East of Belleville] get the games; those outside of the Habs area get 40 games unless they buy either the RDS package for $60 or Centre Ice/RGCL.

Why BELLEVILLE? Did CO have anything to do with that to get back at us in the Center of the Universe? Hmmmm??
(it looks like RDS for me in mid October...unless they suck mudwater)

some special. like watching hockey? line our pockets! those of us with Rogers get the first part of the season free on RGCL. of course, that means watching via an internet connection and paying for data . . . then ponying up for the second half of the season. yup, Rogers blames the NHL for the mess ongoing with games: " the way the NHL carves up the National vs. Regional vs. Out-of-Market right makes things confusing to say the least." I'm told that they are working to have blackouts fully lifted . . . but that "until then, there's always RGCL" ("go ahead, pay", in other words). then again, in all likelihood we are going to be looking at PPV as soon as they can get away with it.

I mentioned the blackouts, and he said that he heard there will be none next year. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I finally found the courage to chat with a Bell customer service agent.
It took about 30 minutes and a lot of "please wait, I will check for you" but I finally got the following info.....:
There will be an NHL French package for Habs and Sens games as mentioned in this thread earlier.
The cost will be 60$ one time payment
Available to order online as of October 2nd
Channel name ---------Channel Number
NHL French Package ------------ 423 - SD NHL French Package ------------424 - SD NHL French Package ----------- 1462 - HD NHL French Package -----------1463 - HD
(The above channel list was a copy and paste that the agent did for me on the chat so she must have gotten it somewhere)
There is hope for us outside of Habs land..........

It's Rogers...nicknamed Robbers. As a 25 or so year customer, do not expect anything that will reduce their revenue stream.
My wife puts on battle fatigues and war paint....to do battle with Rogers for our tv package and billing errors! Tinordy fights are toddler spats compared to her battles!

Why not get RDS by the month? At Robbers, it's $6.99 and you can start it after the first few months when most of the games will be free. Because RDS will be blacked out in the GTA for Habs Games and points west. 22 games on TVA. RDS has rights to the other 60. it's all about regional vrs national rights, as decreed by ownership and the NHL. blame Rogers all you want, but they are working to get the blackouts lifted. won't happen this year, though.
