If you have a video player such as an OUYA and it is running XBMC, you can stream nhl games using an XBMC plugin. Below is a couple of examples XBMC Hockey StreamOr if you have a Gamecenter account you can watch it through XBMC on your TV.

I finally found the courage to chat with a Bell customer service agent. It took about 30 minutes and a lot of "please wait, I will check for you" but I finally got the following info.....: There will be an NHL French package for Habs and Sens games as mentioned in this thread earlier. The cost will be 60$ one time payment Available to order online as of October 2nd Channel name ---------Channel Number NHL French Package ------------ 423 - SD NHL French Package ------------424 - SD NHL French Package ----------- 1462 - HD NHL French Package -----------1463 - HD (The above channel list was a copy and paste that the agent did for me on the chat so she must have gotten it somewhere) There is hope for us outside of Habs land.......... No sign of this package yet on Bell Fibe. Not sure I want to call them yet. Still 6 days to go.

The CS Agent told me it was not on the WebSite yet, but he can add it to my package, so he did. Channel 1462-63 in HD. 60$ Hopefully that works. I also got an email confirmation. Added NHL FRENCH PACKAGE.... I will wait before saying VICTORY

Tonight will be the test if so. I have Bell TV (which is the new way they call express Vu). It is the satellite TV (dish). Didn't switch to Fibe yet. I am not sure it includes pre-season but I don't really care. I didn't want to confuse the clerk even more by adding pre-season into the mix. But If I get it, I will make sure to come here and update when I get a second.

just got off the phone with someone in the office of the president of Rogers (who says that whinging expressing your concerns doesn't matter?). his take: - it's a new/first year venture, we can expect growing pains
- they listen
- sometimes they are reactive, but they listen
- NHL sets policy, Rogers follows it, but will do what they can to keep fans happy (and by fans I think he means viewers)
- they have to keep shareholders happy too
- there is no plan to go pay-per-view . . . but the future is the future
- they listen when people complain -- that's why there is now an RDS package
- yup, they listen to complaints and concerns so if you have them let them know
- they can't do anything about how Bell treats its customers (underneath that: we're so much better)
- THEY LISTEN!
all in all, he was a nice guy, listened to me (but everything I had to say had already been dealt with anyway). here is the shortcut to on-line complaining: use it! complaints will be filtered (maybe answered, maybe put in a pile with like concerns, I think). I did say that a lot of the problem was lack of communication that led to expectations that were unfulfilled. maybe they'll do better. who knows? the good thing about Rogers taking over: I'm in the States next week, and will be able to watch the Habs opener on Wednesday!

I live in Cambridge, Ontario….well west of the Mason-Dixon.
The CS rep, as mentioned above, said the NHL FRENCH LANGUAGE PACKAGE would work for me.
Channels 1462 and 1463 on Bell satellite.
One time fee of $60…refundable if it doesn't work. (We'll see how easy that process is if it's blacked-out.)
Fingers crossed.
And a big thank you to the members of this board for the tips/info!

1462 and 1462 have still not shown up in my guide.
I called to ensure it was available in my area.
The answer from the Bell CS rep:
"It was just offered on Oct. 2nd....they were having technical difficulties as of yesterday (Oct. 3). Wait until the start of the regular season. It should appear by then."
We shall see.

I figured it was just because they are not ready yet and beside, there won't be a game for a while still. On my OnLine profile with Bell, it shows that I subscribe to "NHL French Package (Seasonal Sport)" so something must be right...

Center ice is working fine.....a little pricey but I've had it for the last couple of years with no complaints. I'll see all 82 Hab games in English so all is good.

I should get every one they broadcast.

I'm too lazy to go back and check what I posted earlier, and am away so don't have the info in front of me, but I think that the $60 French package give you 60 Habs games and 54 Sens games (if you are interested) on RDS; the other 22 Habs games (French) are on (free) TVA. Some of the RDS games will be available in English (the 40 national games).

Thank you Franko and CH. I'll check it out.
Spoke to 3 different servers today and none of them could give me an answer. I'm very worried that I'll tune in for the game and see the "Not broadcast in you region" sign. But will have the stream ready!

But will have the stream ready! expect to be disappointed in that tonight. but in a good way. the game is broadcast on TVA (fr) and SN (en). I expect nationally. SN will have a national game Wednesdays from the looks of it. 60 games are on RDS, 22 on TVA ( check the schedule). tomorrow's game is RDS -- that's your first opportunity to throw something at the TV oh, and I have the honour of the Bruins game tonight on the tube -- Habs not shown here . . . so I'll be squinting if I can get the stream.

FRanko, I just spent about an hour talking to 3 different Rogers people. I had difficulty registering & the last person I spoke to is telling me this French language package is for streaming only - ie: on a phone or XBOX. She says it is not a TV service. Is that right?
