Wow, thanks for the great memories...
Always thought there was something special about a Rock band with a "flute traversiere". He's an awesome player isn't he ?
Didn't realize they were such such a good Live band.

Good find. I love the Tull. My band pulled out our Locomotive Breath cover the other night at a show. No piano or flute though - just lots of guitar.

There's no footage on Youtube for these guys but I also listened to Uriah Heep and Mott the Hoople alot also. Humble Pie was a staple of every smoked filled get together. Frampton Comes Alive was a good panty remover back then, lol.

I remember reading an interview with Frampton that at one of his concerts the women close to the stage seemed a bit randy and one of the band members told Frampton that he should get them to take their bras off. He laughed but said "what the hey" and (almost jokingly) suggested that the women do so. The stage was littered with them! Now we have the Red Mile and its no big deal. As for the Heap, still looking for Look At Yourself on CD -- and Doucette's Mama Let Him Play. Boy did that guy give a good concert and could he play guitar!

Can't say I remember these guys, Mr. B. Good flashback though. Cheers. I used to entertain friends (though they claimed I was torturing them) with the "Trout Mask Replica" album in the late 60s and early 70s. Here's a band for the ages: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaGIlBDfzos

Here's one for the younger generation. A Canadian band, the Constantines, that I saw at the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington this summer. After a cloudy morning and afternoon it started to hail as the Cons started their set on the side stage. They had to stop 20 minutes in when the sound board fried. The crowd were loving getting pelted by huge chunks of ice - and the band fed off of the crowd's energy. A short but intense, and memorable set. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWFsqYMvgkE

Chad Wackerman on drums. Zappa always had top musicians in his band. Lesser known fact: Zappa produced Grand Funk Railroad's final album: "Good Singin' Good Playin'" in 1976. He's featured on one track: "Out To Get You". I've read that hard-core Zappa fans think it is some of his best lead work. Definitely worth a listen. I might know where there's an mp3 of it......
