“That banker fella gave 'em to me.” About as corny as Granny’s pipe. Wonder if Buddy and Irene felt a little “dirty” doing those spots. Don’t know if it was stipulated in their contracts, or if they got paid extra. I mean, are you an actor or a corporate shill? Then again, do you put up a fuss or do what the producers/sponsors tell you to do? There are other Beverly Hillbillies Winston ads....featuring Miss Jane (Nancy Kulp) who died of cancer of the larynx....and Cousin Pearl (Bea Benaderet) who died of lung cancer.

Another BEHIND THE VOICE post. Somebody the Habs could use for toughness and skill..... Race Bannon! "Give it your best shot, Bruins...." From Hanna-Barbera's Jonny Quest, 1964-65. Voiced by Mike Road, who's still alive at 93! Here's Mike as a prosecutor in an episode of Bewitched from 1966....go to 2:10. What a signature voice!

my "welcome to spring" go-to song, Willie. at the beginning of the pandemic I thought "I'm going to learn to play that solo" then I watched this and thought . . . nope.
as I've said before, best concert I ever attended: Doucette leading on Bob Welch. just an amazing night of guitar work.

What an iconic solo, like the sax on Jukebox hero I love listening to the Douce cranked up while driving down the road with the top down, trying to steer with my knees while playing air guitar... I must be a sight to behold... crusty old bastard trying to relive his youth 😁

The first time I saw Jerry Doucette was in Ottawa at the Algonquin College Pub, probably 1979 ... great show ...
Cheers.
