Always nice to see the Dogs doing good. Great to see Denis gets his game on track after the last couple of seasons. Whether its with Montreal or not i hope he gets a chance in the NHL again. After a slow start Pacioretty with 5 pts in last 3 games, looking better as well.

Saw the last half of this game on the Rogers channel of all places. Denis was solid with the only goal getting past him being a deflection. Pogge didn't seem that busy & the only goal he allowed was very stoppable. Pacioretty with a nice move on Pogge in the shootout to win it.

Dogs four game winning streak comes to a crashing halt 3-1 against the Houston Aeros in Corey Locke's return to the Dog Pound. Last goal into an empty net, so the boys just came up a tad short. Captain Chipper now 0-1 with the Dogs. That is bound to improve, methinks. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1004923

Baby Habs beat Baby Leafs 5-2 on a night where the big boys were unable to do the same. Captain Chipper leads the way with two goals and the game's first star. Maxwell and Pacioretty with two helpers as well. Denis gets another W in the game. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1004936

Video highlights from last night's big Dogs win against Toronto. Check out Chipper's two goals, real nice wristers in both cases. And he showed some real nice speed along the wings on the first one. The kid can shoot on the fly, something we really have not seen in his short stints with the Habs. D'Agostini gets another one from hanging around in front of the net (good stuff). Maxwell and Pacioretty looking good setting up goals too. Stewart gets a goal and a scrap. I think Gainey was at the wrong game last night!! I sure watched the wrong game last night...lol!! www.hamiltonbulldogs.com/media/video/id/76

They ran out of gas. It was their third game in as many days, after playing Friday and Saturday night, they then had to travel from Hamilton to play this game on the road on Sunday afternoon. They played a decent second but had no jump in either the first or third period. Also, Marc Denis got the day off and Desjardins got one of his infrequent starts. Not the best result but some decent personal performances including two more goals for D'Agostini. I am sure Coach Lever used that bus ride back to Hamilton to go over a few things about giving up four unanswered goals in the third. Even noise reduction headphones and ipods on full volume likely would not have helped hide on the way back home.

Doggies beat Rochester 4-3 thanks to a solid two goal effort from D'Agostini. Chipper and Maxell got the other Dog goals and Denis picked up the win in net. Yanick Lehoux picked up three helpers and really looks like a darn great off season signing by Gainey as he continues to help to provide offense. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1004973

Doggies go two for two this weekend with a big 5-2 victory over Rochester today. Three goals by Ryan Russell and three shorties helped the boys today, with Chipper having another good game with three assists. Denis picks up another win. D'Agostini finds the back on the net again for his 12th of the season. www.hamiltonbulldogs.com/article/russell-nets-hat-trick-in-5-2-win

The question is "what do you do with the guys who you'd want to [should] sit"?
Can't send anyone down on waivers without the possibility/probability of losing them. Cant' have half a dozen int eh press box. No one is trading yet and other than [maybe] the Leafs who would take the guys you want shipped out? Milbury hasn't found his way to a GM job yet.

On www.habsinsideout.com yesterday they reported that the Bulldogs are going to playing at the Bell Centre on November 30th. I think it's a 5PM start.

If it ultimately the overall team has more elements to it, is more complete, and is effectively better, you use any avenue you need to whether it be waivers or a trade. There shouldn't be any concern over losing either Begin or Dandenault through waivers.

Dogs lose 4-2 to a Manchester Monarchs team that they likely should have beaten. Their special teams play was the difference tonight and they did not capitalize on their chances, including a five minute major and 5 on 3 in the third. Too bad, now they head on the road and hopefully can rebound on the weekend. Maxwell and Trotter with the goals. Stewart, Chipper and Flinn all dropped the gloves in a bit of a slug fest. Denis takes the loss. D'Agostini and Chipper held pointless tonight. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1004997

Badly outshot tonight vs Peoria, but Denis has a good game and we score in bunches and come away 7-4 winners. Chips with 2 goals. Love those out of town homers. Denis stops 43 of 47 shots and isn't even one of the stars. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1005024

Ryan White, our grinder, has the pro game of his short career with four points (2+2) and he only gets a second star and the other guys get star #1 and 3. Bottom line, oh well...our kids get the win and the two points. Our young scorer Matt D'Agostini has a quite night with one goal and one assist. Anyone else noticing that this kid seems to be able to put up points night after night? And he is from SSM, Ontario...a good old Canadian boy for those with big shirts and ugly sports coats.

We've got some good solid young players on the farm. I wish we had a true franchise player somewhere, but we'll have to do it by committee, I guess. Tonight, in the 3rd, the Dogs are ahead 4-0 and Carle is having a great game, with 2 goals and an assist. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1005031

Good road trip so far, and they get some extra Texas time before their next game in San Antonio. Desjardins with a fairly rare start gets a big win. Corey Locke held off the scoresheet against his old team. Great team effort this afternoon.

Matt D'Agostini with two assists tonight, now has 23 points in 19 games. He is fourth in league scoring and second in goals. Yanick Lehoux is tied for 9th.
Weber left the game with a knee on knee that set the tone for the game. Even with tough guy Ryan Flinn in the pressbox, there were a number of fights tonight. Greg Stewart is one tough hombre, as he tuned someone else in a good scrap. Henry got into a scrap to send a message about the Weber hit, so the boys are standing up for each other.
The Dogs had two more PP goals tonight, as their special teams have been downright special this season. They lead the league in shorties and have an amazing goal differencial of plus 2 on the penalty kill.
Mathieu Carle with his first two goals of the season has a massive game with three points. This a night after Ryan White has a massive game with 2+2 last night. Like seventeen said, a little bit of winning by committee, but that bodes well for future depth.
I would say there are seven guys who have a legitimate chance of playing for the Habs at some point (D'Agostini, Maxwell, Pacioretty, Chipchura, Stewart, Weber, Carle). And don't count a guy like White out as he does a lot of little things well, just needs to get a tad quicker on the skates.
Congrats to Cedric Desjardins with his first AHL shutout.

This toughness of Stewart adds considerably to his game, and to his potential as an NHL forward. As we are seeing, it is good to have a decent player, who can come in and defend his teammates without embarrassing himself. Lucic, for example, would be in much tougher against a guy like Stewart, who has actually fought, than Komi, who has rarely fought.

I don't really see anyone in our system who could go toe to toe with Lucic and do well. Maybe Conboy if he bulks up a bit. Stewart gives 2 inches and 20 pounds to Lucic, who's also younger and will inevitably grow. While Stewart has fighting experience, I'm not sure that it would make up the strength difference.

I see his game modelled after Begin in that he is a good fast skater and likes to insert energy in the game. He has played that game with the Petes, Cyclones, and now Bulldogs (and one game call up with les gars). He can chip in with offense (although at lower levels, not sure how this would translate at the NHL level). He is not a pure heavyweight in terms of the big boys, but will win a lot more than Tom K likely. He does not seem to back down in Hamilton to scraps with bigger guys, but he also has some bigger mates (Flinn, Henry) to do their fair share of heavy lifting too.

The Dogs stormed the Alamo on Tuesday night and made it three for three on their road trip, although not in the easiest of fashions.
The boys blasted off to a quick 3-1 lead after one, then the ice in San Antonio got really bad and dragged the game to a crawl. The bad guys tied it up and the Dogs needed a third period injection of life to walk away with a 5-3 win. The Dogs are now in first in their division, although the Moose are one point back with games in hand. Given San Antonio is near the bottom of the league standings, this was not expected to be a close one. But, as Coach Lever said after the game, they were playing with pride and trying to snap their long winless streak. Those are not always the easiest games to win, especially with the ice in really bad shape.
Ryan White is on a tear. He now has 12 points this season, but he got three of them on Tuesday and four on Saturday. He added two goals and an assist in the win Tuesday night. D'Agostini, Pacioretty and Glumac also scored for the good guys. Whitey and MaxPac with the top two stars of the game.

Great interview. Thanks for posting NWT. Lever reveals that D'Agostini has been called up, probably because Tanguay can't go. Press Release confirms this. MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens announced Thursday night that forward Matt D’Agostini has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. He will join the team on Friday morning, and will attend the club’s practice at Verizon Center in Washington. D’Agostini, 22, leads the Bulldogs in scoring, and ranks third in the AHL with 25 points in 20 games (14 goals, 11 assists). He leads the club in goals (14), powerplay goals (5) and shots on goal (64). He also served 16 penalty minutes. D’Agostini (6-foot, 200 pounds), a right winger from Sault-Ste-Marie, Ontario was selected in the sixth round by the Canadiens, 190th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He played his first NHL game with the Canadiens during the 2007-08 season.

Their PK, normally their strong suit, abandoned them in front of over 14k faithful in the Bell Centre on Sunday. They gave up four PP goals that game, essentially doing them in according to Coach Lever. Time to rebound at home tomorrow night, before games in Grand Rapids and at home against the Marlies on the weekend.
