Sounds like something Kovalev would say!! Having only "known" Kovy I for the last 2.5 years, I would have to agree. Unfortunately for you, he left the Pens in 2003. Try again? Hint: American, LW

The only LW that played for the pens that I know of was LeClair....not sure on the year though. John is the correct answer! Source: Mark Moore's hockey skills book *** This question is brought to you by Franko. See if you can answer it without looking it up. I was able to, but I did require a clue... Trivia question: Who is the worst goaltender in Habs history? OK, that may be a bit subjective, so we'll ask which Habs goaltender has the worst stats in the history of the team?

Answer: nhlpa.com/Players/5810/Tomas-Vokoun4 goals in 20 minutes for a GAA of 12.0. My first guess was Mathieu Garon, but his worst with the CH was 4.37 GAA. *** Trivia question: Benoit Pouliot's penalty shot notwithstanding, when was the last time the Habs were awarded a penalty shot? And did he score?

Answer: On December 16, 2008, Guillaume Latendresse was assessed a penalty shot on the Hurricanes' Cam Ward. Guillaume did score, but it was a lost cause, as the Canes won it 3-2.

Answer: Claude Lemieux. During his second stint with the NJ Devils in 1999-2000, Claude went to management to see if Rob McLean (who's from NS might be hired on by the Devils organization. Rob had fine-tuned Claude's skates for 4 years while he was with the Avalanche, and he felt that he played better when Rob took care of sharpening his skates. *** Happy Birthday to Mathieu Darche! It's beyond hilarious that at 34, we call him "Old Man Darche" Because most of us here are older than that... and I don't know about you guys, but I don't feel old ;D

Congrats to: Jaroslav Spacek, on his 800th NHL game tonight! And Roman Hamrlik, on his 1,255th NHL game tonight -- and let's hope he gets a point (for 600). A goal would be best, as that would put him at 150-450-600.

Trivia question: which former Habs drafted his own son? Ferguson and Houle and Geoffreon??? Maybe, but the answer I was looking for was Bob Gainey, who drafted his son Steve in 1997 when he was with the Dallas Stars. Steve played a total of 33 NHL games, 13 with Dallas (2000-02/2003-04) and 20 with Phoenix (2005-06). He had a total of 2 assists, was a -3 and had 34 PIM. *** Trivia question: In four junior seasons, he won the Memorial Cup three times, all with the same team. Who is he?

Answer: Darcy Tucker, Kamloops Blazers, 1992, 1994 and 1995. Also won the World Junior Hockey Championship in 1995. And his birthday is the day before mine! Hadn't noticed that before. Darcy now spends his time as a player agent with Turning Point Sports Management. He's also collecting $1 million US a season for the next three as part of the buyout offered to him by Brian Burke in 2008. Nice work if you can get it

What former Hab is the only GM to draft both a father and his son in the Entry Draft?
Bonus points if you can name the players ... both taken in the sixth round, both never played a game in the NHL ....

No clue about the guys (yet), and looking is interrupting my game-watching, so I might go back to it later...

From the hints, I knew it had to be Glen Sather. So I did some digging on the web. Father and SonOnly one NHL general manager has ever drafted both a father and his son at the NHL Entry Draft, and it's current Rangers President and GM Glen Sather. In the 1984 draft at Montreal, held while he was running the Edmonton Oilers as head coach and general manager, Sather selected a 22-year-old Czechoslovakian player named Ivan Dornic in the sixth round, No. 126 overall. It was pretty much a longshot, since not many players, including Dornic, were coming out of the formerly communist nation at that time.
Nineteen years later at Nashville, in his current position with the Rangers, Sather selected Ivan Dornic Jr. in the sixth round, No. 176 overall. Another sixth-round pick turned into another Dornic family member who never opted to play in North America.

Can't be the Big M ... he didn't get more points than Gordie But you have to learn to think like Val ..... she didn't say that the player led an NHL team in scoring, just led his team. Could be a junior team, or an AHL team .... also she didn't say when he lef his team, but I'm going on the assumption (trying to think like her and all), that he led the team the year prior to being a Hab.

OK ... not sure if this is right or not, but I have a gut feeling. Here is my logic .... Russell worked in the Maritimes before joining HNIC. You are a Maritimer, so I am going to guess that the player is a Nova Scotian. Russell joined CBMT in 1988 and the only Nova Scotian that comes to my mind on THAT team is my all-time favourite hockey player (who just happens to own the Halifax Mooseheads) - Robert David SmithEDIT: I believe Mike McPhee is also a Martimer, but what does he have to do with the Q? Btw, "articulate" was what lead me down the Bobby Smith path....

Btw, "articulate" was what lead me down the Bobby Smith path.... It is indeed Bobby Smith. He is now the coach of the Mooseheads as well as the owner (he kept Cam Russell around as gm). Mr. Val, who works at Costco, met him one day as he was entering the store. Mr. Val: "Hey, you used to play for the Habs!". Bobby: "Yes." Scott Russell, in his book Ice Time: A Canadian Hockey Journey, says he picked Bobby as he knew he would make things easy because he was so articulate. *** Trivia question: Which former Hab once did a commercial for Norelco?
