Are you on the Canadiens facebook trivia page Val? There's a Canadiens facebook trivia page? Sure...when on facebook just do a search for Montreal Canadiens Fans page. Top of page is a bar with 7 or 8 differenct sections you can go to on the Habs. Trivia button is located on far right. I've sent it over 1000 questions of the years. Sit at 1086 questions right now. I sent in a few this week first time in 6 months or so.

So you go from my all time favourite Hab .... to my all-time least favourite Hab .... PJ STOCK COMMERCIALBut he was really good on Battle of the Blades ;D Are you on the Canadiens facebook trivia page Val? I had no idea there was such a creature. I am on FB, but I hardly ever do anything there. I do have my fave players "liked" [and yes, that includes the boyfriend]. I get my trivia the old-fashioned way: reading through official websites and checked-out library books and magazines *** Trivia question: During the 1934-35 season, penalty shots were introduced. Who was awarded 3 of the first 4 penalty shots, and did he score on any of them?

Trivia question: During the 1934-35 season, penalty shots were introduced. Who was awarded 3 of the first 4 penalty shots, and did he score on any of them? Too easy if you know where to look .. lol ... I'll let someone else answer the original question. The second part is YES, he scored on one of them against Andy Aikenhead As an aside, only two other players in Montreal Canadiens history have taken three penalty shots - Maurice Richard (scored on one) and Guilliaume Latendresse (scored on two). Another interesting note, only two Montreal Canadiens have scored on two penalty shots - Guilliaume Latendresse (scored on two out of three) and Mats Naslund (scored on two out of two)

You, mon ami, are in a silly mood these days ;D Answer: Armand Mondou. And Skilly is right in that he scored on one of them. *** Trivia question: This former Hab died on the day of his brother's funeral. Now that sucks! Who is he?

Hint: His brother was a Hab too. They even played together for 4 seasons.

Correct -- in 1956, his brother Sprague died after being hit by a car. On the day of his funeral, Odie died of heart failure. Very sad. *** So, I'll be back in this thread on January 3 -- possibly with a question concerning the game I will have attended the day previous *** And before I forget, happy birthday to Scott Gomez! Now go out and score me some goals!

Considering he's shooting left, looks fairly tall, and has the small, white section of tape on the stick ....I'd say it's Jacques Laperriere.
The hair looks wrong, though.
But that's my best guess.
And I'm pretty sure the Leaf moving in on net is Jim Harrison.

It is Laperriere. You guys are pretty good. Must have looked that up somewhere as not too many people would still have that album.

It is Laperriere. You guys are pretty good. Must have looked that up somewhere as not too many people would still have that album. Weren't the numbers/logos off the album, too? That's what I read. Or are the players mentioned on the cover? Anyway, here's my process, as I don't have the album. I saw a tall player who shoots left and has a narrow band of white tape more toward the heel of his stick. That was the key piece for me. So I went went to hockey db. and looked up the roster of the 71-72 Habs. Laperriere fit the tall, left shot criteria. Now for the tape on the stick. I watched the clip of Game 2 of the Habs/Bruins 71 series. Laperriere skates by with the same narrow band of white tape. The hair bothered me....but I thought, ah, it's a year later. Maybe he let it grow a bit.

At the time it came out could tell quite clearly it was JL. So familiar to the players back then, his stance, no helmets etc... Robinson didn't arrive on the scene until '73, Bouchard was husky built with an afro. Nobody else had the height.
Hard to believe but that season we had Serge Savard, Guy Lapointe, JC Tremblay(who was probably the best of the lot), Jacques Lapierriere, Terry Harper and Pierre Bouchard as our defense. Little wonder we won so many cups? Out of the them 4 are Hall of Fame material(Tremblay would be there if not for jumping to WHA). Bouchard was the enforcer, Harper was a solid NHL defensman.

J.C. Tremblay's a Hall of Famer in my books.
From Wikipedia: In 1979, he donated a kidney to his daughter. His remaining kidney was the victim of cancer, from which he died on December 7, 1994.

[I'm really starting to hate my home internet connection... it keeps dropping out!] Trivia question: In the off-season, we all know that Carey Price participates in rodeo competitions. Name a former Habs who did the same. Price is not the first Canadiens player to take part in rodeos. Left winger Perry Turnbull, who played 40 games with the Habs during the 1983-84 season, was also involved in the sport. At the time, Turnbull said he needed to be involved in competition during the off-season. Link

Perry Turnbull also played roller hockey after retiring from the NHL/International Hockey (Italy).
He must have liked the roller hockey team, because after playing for 2 seasons, he coached them the next season.

Answer: Dominic Moore's grandfather could make more money as a long-haul truck driver, so he stuck with that.

Trivia question: This current Habs holds the team-record for d-men with 40 pts at home in a season. And yes, it's an NHL team.*

I assume it would be held by Robinson. But Markov's best year was 39 points at home so that would remove him from the discussion. Therefore, I would have to guess (cause I can't find confirmation) that the answer is Roman Hamrlik with the Tampa Bay Lightning the year he scored 65 points.

Once again, Skilly is correct. BTW, for those of you who get RDS, Hockey 360 is having an interview with Ryan tomorrow night. Tonight they had Guillaume, and my goodness, I realize he's in "rehab" mode, but he's chubby and furry! Not a good look for him at all, at all.
