Right on. My son came in to hear what I was listening to, BLNY.
Here's one from the Smuther's Brothers. Check out how young Neil Young is.
Edit: Don't know why I'm in a nostalgic mode. Meh! Who knows.

Re the first track, I can't help but think Pulp Fiction. Tarrantino soundtrack genius at work.
Neil was what, 19, when he made his break with Buffalo Springfield?

Re the first track, I can't help but think Pulp Fiction. Tarrantino soundtrack genius at work. Neil was what, 19, when he made his break with Buffalo Springfield? Close....he was most likely 20 when he co-founded the group in 1966--as Wiki states he was born on November 12, 1945. This very hit song, For What It's Worth, was recorded on December 5, 1966. So, he was 21 at that time. They released it as a single in January 1967.

Mostly classic hard rock....a great mix that very few bands do around these parts. If you want more info about this Saturday, PM me.

I think Neil's greatest accomplishment is his versatility. One album is folk, the next country, the next hard rock. Throw in a doo-wop album in 1980, and there's simply nothing he can't do. Oh, and is there anyone else that can make a guitar solo comprising of one note sound any better? lol

I heard this on the Magnum ice cream commercial and had to put it up.
No real video, just audio. Like the tempo and the tune in general.
Cheers.

....I recently heard on Sirius XM, two AM hits of 1968 that blew me away with guitar sound at the time. I was 9 years old then...and I still love these tunes.
Released as a single in January 1968. Great rock lead from Clapton...especially in this LIVE footage from their 68 "farewell" concert. Typical Cream jam.
And released in April of that same year....
Featuring 19-year-old Ted Nugent on lead.

A masterpiece, IMO. Start to finish. How I would loved to have seen that creative process in the studio.
Released 41 years ago--November, 1971.

Was not sipping on anything but a coffee...as I was driving home from Toronto today. I heard a fascinating true story on CBC which will be made into a movie for a 2014 release, starring Brad Pitt. From the "animals seeking revenge" department.
"The Tiger"....based on the book "The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival" by John Vaillant.
In December 1997, an eastern Russian poacher, Vladimir Markov, shot and wounded a male Siberian tiger--the largest cat on the planet. This tiger, apparently, remembered this man....and tracked his scent back to his cabin where he killed his hunting dogs and chewed and destroyed anything with Markov's scent.
He then waited by Markov's front door.....and attacked, killed, and ate Markov upon his arrival home.
Here's the author talking about it.
Pitt will play the part of Yuri Trush, the tracker who puts (pardon the pun) all the pieces together.

The Golden Spruce is the true story of a rogue environmentalist who chops down a sacred tree in the Haida Gwai region of B.C.

However, one more of these animals is the polar bear. I was in Spence Bay, NWT, back in '82 and even the Inuit respected the bears. There were posters everwhere detailing what to do if in the event you came across one. Cheers.

For the guitar players out there. Reignwolf is a Saskatchewan native with no album out yet, but has been getting a lot of attention on the strength of live performances. Have seen him live (with band), and it was pretty incredible.

cigarviper and I got together recently and started going through some old music. Here's "The Rolling Stones: Rock and Roll Circus." Classic Jethro Tull. Ian Anderson, flute and vocals, and a pre-Black Sabbath Tony Iommi on lead.

Great clip, Dis.
Here's another from that event.
The Dirty Mac...put together just for the show.
John Lennon Eric Clapton (Cream had just disbanded) Mitch Mitchell (Hendrix's outstanding drummer) Keith Richards (on bass).
YER BLUES, from The Beatles (White Album)

Love this track, and have learned to play it. The dropped 5th power chords have a really cool sound. Like the mids were scooped at the guitar instead of the amp. Layne may be gone, but the harmonies are still there. Scalpel is another great track on this album. Jerry has dealt with his own addiction battles on these last two albums. I'm glad they've continued. Some bands shut down when they lose a member. These guys took a break, but have returned and the music is good.

.....I picked quite a night to watch my first UFC fight (#168).
Anderson Silva's lower leg broke in half when his kick was checked by Chris Weidman's knee.
A new member in the sports' gross department joining Joe Theismann, Moises Alou, and Kevin Ware.
I doubt Silva will ever fight again. Horrendous.

Saw the last two fights on the card. Joe Theisman was the first person I thought of when I saw Silva's leg snap. Brutal.
Weidman was dominating the fight to that point. Silva adjusted his game plan in the second round, but Weidman was still dictating the bout.
Ronda Rousey is a fighting machine. I thought Miesha Tate was going to lose just as soon as I saw her walk down to the octagon. She didn't look as prepared or as fierce as Rousey did.
Cheers.

Came out in 2007 (wiki). The video starts around the 15-second mark. Really like the tempo to the song. Listen to the song right to the end and you'll hear Paolo's Scottish accent.
