Tinordi destroys 1 guy with a hit and then puts down another in a fight within 2 seconds of each other.

Textbook right there. More of that.
Looks like the Mooseheads are going to be trading Fucale (and his teammate Matt Murphy) to the Remparts. Not official yet, but there's a lot of noise. Final year of junior for both. Moose aren't a playoff team. Sell off to teams looking to make a big run. If the return isn't such that would make a big impact next season, I could see them moving Ehlers too.

Scherbak with three more assists last night. Hey Team Russia, nice lineup omission. Edit: The video of his three primary helpers. He is #95 in green. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0IlTJcMOks

Some bits and bytes about some prospects.
Fucale has officially been traded to Quebec, so that definitely increases his chances of going deep in the playoffs this season.
Team Canada has its first warm-up game for the WJC tonight against Russia, and it is on TSN1/4. Either Fucale or Comrie will be playing, so a possible chance to see a Habs prospect on TV tonight.
Dalton Thrower who had season ending surgery near the end of last year has been medically cleared to play. He has been formally assigned to the Dogs, but I expect they will further assign him to Wheeling of the ECHL so that he can get some games in. We shall see.

Moose got a 19 year old goalie with so so numbers, a first and third in 2016 and a first and second in 2018.

Good news on DAlton, as I was wondering where he was. Thanks NWT.

McCarron cut by US team. That will make it easier for me to cheer against them. Disappointing but the American selection committee has often had me scratching my head. Somehow they've managed to win Gold more often than us recently. Goaltending IMO.

So, with Scherbak not getting an invite by Russia and McCarron getting cut by the US, here are the following prospects playing in this year's holiday edition of the WJC:
Zachary Fucale - Canada Martin Reway (captain) - Slovakia Jacob DeLaRose (captain) - Sweden Artturi Lehkonen (captain) - Finland
TSN is showing all the games on its new suite of TSN channels, so lots of opportunity to watch some of the kids play while munching on turkey leftovers. I posted the broadcast schedule in an earlier post in this thread.

Our WHL kids were back in action last night. Scherbak potted the game's only goal in a 1-0 OT win against Vancouver and Bozon had a pair of assists.
Dalton Thrower has been assigned to the Brampton Beast of the ECHL for conditioning and played in his first game in ages yesterday. He was held pointless, but great to hear that he is finally back playing after a long recovery from his surgery.

Scherbak with a goal last night in a losing cause. That was his third straight game with a goal, and on his 19th birthday to boot. His birthday being before December 31st also means he can play in the AHL next season if the Habs chose to do so.

McCarron, sans Domi on his line, just had a game of his OHL life. A Hattie and three assists for a nice six point game. Will post videos once they are up. Both BigMac and Scherby are over not making their WJC teams! m.youtube.com/watch?v=Drro1z5yzywA big slapper, an end to end beautie, and a heck of a wrister.

So much for sponging off Domi. They just complement each other and Big Mac is showing he can produce on his own. Wow, 6 point night.

I don't know the US junior lineup but could McCarron have helped them ... like I was saying, I don't know the US roster ... six points ... great timing ...
Cheers.

I think with both the Russian and US teams, politics played a huge role. You stay in Russia or the U.S. and your chances of making the WJC team are much improved. Especially for Russia....are those forwards all better than Scherbak? Hardly. No our guys were railroaded.

Big Mac has a pretty good new line mate, with OHL scoring leader Mitch Marner. Mike is a top 18 OHL scorer with big size. He must be better than at least one of those US forward picks. Scherby is top ten in the Dub, so no way he could not help that Russian team.
Oh well, they both will help our club at some point. Next step Hamilton once this season is over.

Right on ... liked this comment in particular ... Oshawa going for it this year ... "McCarron is off to a torrid pace in 2014-15, already at 40 points in just 25 games, including 21 goals, and drawing rave reviews from OHL scouts as one of the best defensive centres in the league ... Oshawa is an even stronger team than London, with a 27-5-1 record, so McCarron will have a real shot at playing for the Memorial Cup ..."

Ive watched the americans and russian teams and they could have definately used those 2.

My following post has nothing to do with a Habs prospect, but not really sure where to put it .... Speaking of the Memorial Cup and WJHC ... Edmonton Oilers will now be sending Leon Draisaitl to the WHL in hope Prince Albert trades him to Kelowna, so he can play in the Memorial Cup. It's no wonder the Oilers are in such disarray. On Dec 22nd, the Oilers decide to not release Draisaitl to the World Juniors. One can only assume that the Oilers felt he was too valuable to their club. But on Jan 2nd, they will send him down to the WHL. What changed in 11 days??? If I was Draisaitl I'd be livid. You cost me a chance to play for my country, and then a week later didn't want me anyway!!?? The Oilers used to be a classy organization ... Now it's just an old boys club where former players go to make a fortune for doing nothing

Draisaitl's rights were traded to Kelowna a week or so ago. Perhaps Bruce Hamilton of the Rocketes knew something we didn't, but I think this is one of those issues that the Oilers have to get better at. It's a symptom of lack of organization. Maybe they were hoping to see something more from Draisaitl and he did get two points in a game recently. Really, the Oilers were hoping he'd be much better than he was (not his fault for his age) but they were so weak at centre after RNH, that they were tempted by the poison fruit of hope. He should have been sent down early in the season.

Re Draisaitl, I was talking about this very thing with friends the other day. It's just one more symptom of a poorly run organization. Burn a year of the ELC, don't release him to the WJC where he could maybe regain some confidence and come back to the club with, then dump him back to the dub. Shoddy asset management.

I live in this town and would like to see them get back into relevancy, but this run of crap management is tough to tolerate.

The Oilers typify it. As an outsider looking in, it would appear Katz is prepared to just cash checks at the bank. If he had any real desire to win, and model things after well run clubs, he'd have cleaned house years ago. If the Canadiens can stop hiring guys from 'inside the clique', anyone can.

McCarron with a goal and two apples in his Oshawa debut. Hmmm.
Scherbak with two assists so far tonight in his old haunt, Saskatoon.
