Eyes on the Prize is reporting that McCarron is expected back by their next game, on Friday.
Cue the segue...you can find out for sure by tuning into RDS on tape delay at 8:00pm Eastern as the game will be televised.

IceCaps...tape delay...RDS...tonight...8:00 pm Eastern.
See Big Mike McCarron, Holloway and Hudon, and newbies Lessio and Friberg.
You can also see the next head coach of the Habs in action behind their bench.....lmao (I hope!!).
Edit: Injury update: Both Scherbak and Ryan Johnston (signed out of college in the summer after attending development camp) are expected to be on the ice next week. Scherbak sure has not had the rookie season he would want, so this is good to know he could return to action later this month if all goes well. As for Johnston, the reports were the kid looked good at camp. Still has not seen any action due to a hernia surgery. No idea what we have with this guy yet.

I saw a bit of Johnston in the pre-season and wondered who he was. He did indeed look good, with the caveat being that he's listed at 5' 10" 180 pounds on hockeydb. Great skater, so he's another of those smaller, stick checking d-men who are better at puck retrieval and passing than at clearing the front of the net.
PS. Please don't joke about Lefebvre being the next coach. I enjoy a good laugh as much as anyone, but that's a nightmare scenario.

After 2 periods, Portland kicking the crap out of us shots wise 32-16 and we're down 3-1. Fucale keeping us in the game.

Lebebvre's latest weekend audition as a possible Habs' coach was thankfully a disaster lol.
Caps suffer only their 2nd and 3rd home games without at least a point. But the games were all Portland. 5-1 on Friday, and 4-1 on Saturday.

Now at .571. Thank god. His winning record was disconcerting at best.

Skilly, could you tell if they're using the same system that the Habs are using? Long stretch passes, chipping off the boards, etc.?

Long stretch passes, chipping off the boards, etc.? Not on a regular basis ... for the most part they are using quick passes and skating into the offensive zone. But their shot selection and accuracy is not the best.

Well, at least that's a better sign. Shot selection and accuracy can improve. Thanks.

Caps lose 6-4 to the Baby Pens tonight. 4th straight loss at home since the weekend. Friberg did have a goal and an assist. Fucale in for all six goals on just 16 shots. Yikes.
Pens are a very good team though, so they knew these would be a tough pair of games. Last night's game was a tough 2-1 loss.

Yeah, their goalie, Matt Murray was 1st star. Unfortunately, record now at .541.

Jarry was in net for the Pens last night ... Fucale let in 3 weak goals, and the defense were caught out of position on 2 others.
At one point in the game, Ref A called a unsportsmanlike penalty on the Pens bench. This gave the Ice Caps a 5 on 3 advantage for 1:40. Right of the faceoff, Ref B calls McCarron for tripping. McCarron in no way tripped the player. He fell when he won the face-off and the Pens player fell trying to go around him. It was the classic "Hey I didn't agree with that unsportsmanlike call to put them 2 players down, so I am going to even that up as quick as I can" ...

We lose to the Baby Leafs, 6-3. Goaltending was weak, with 6 goals on 21 shots. Fucale and Pasquale shared the shame. theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1015255With that the team is now playing at a .526 clip and approaching Sylvain Lefebvre's below .500 career average. Should happen any day now. What a crock our coaching is.

Fucale let a bunch in with the lead the last game, and Pasquale was yanked prior to that. Goaltending has gone south of late. The problems is the Baby Pens and Marlies are top teams, so they will pounce all over you...and they did. Rematch this afternoon. Maybe they should put Scott in net. Scherbak returned from his injury and free agent defender Ryan Johnston had his first match of the season last night.

Can't prove the NHL's involvement, but the loser in all of this is John Scott ... IMO, he's a victim of a dysfunctional voting system ... the fans (for whatever the reason) voted him into the AS Game and the NHL blamed him for it ... wonder how his family feels about him being traded ... Cheers.

He should just give the league the big F you & quit.

I see that Scherbak is wearing (ahem) #17. It's an omen boys. Murray Wilson, Rod Langway, great number.

Caps make it two for two in Albany off an outstanding 32 save performance by Pasquale. Dumont and Ghetto with the goals. Lessio with some really nice breaks early in the game. I liked the game of his I saw after the trade. Brings a little more than Thomas. m.youtube.com/watch?v=ISEY1EQNNxs

Thanks NWT. Lessio has a good burst of speed and used his noggin too. First time down the left wing he went wide but the second time he deked wide and cut in.
Scherbak made a grest pass to him on the 2 on 1 later.
Did you notice that John Scott played? He 'calmed down' one scrum near the net.

Nice to see Scherbak contributing after missing so much time.
Scott may not be much of an NHLer, but he's a consummate pro.
