End of next year??? If he does nothing and they get bounced in the first round... how does he stay beyond the end of this year? He inherited a good young core to build on and we have nothing to show for it but an older core. Molson won't fire him until next year It wouldn't surprise me...

Depending what is given up for him, right? I like him better than a couple of guys I can think of on our forward lines. Yes and MB is familiar with him.

Jannick Hansen is in play

Jannick Hansen is in play Late scratch. I'm not sure what to think. He's not a natural offensive threat, and he's a rw. He's a serviceable middle six player with a year left after this at $2.5 million. He's got a limited NTC. After losing 70% of the draws tonight, I really think that should be addressed if possible. If we're looking at a 7 gamer with the Jackets, we're gonna need to do better. Apparently Duchene is operating at 62.3% on draws with 800 taken. That's second, behind Vermette. puckbase.com/stats/faceoff-percentageIf Jordan Staal wasn't signed to a ridiculous contract, I'd be calling Carolina.

FWIW, Mike Commodore, who may or may not have some sources, and tweets like a troll, claims that Montreal has offered Beaulieu, Sherbak, and a first for Duchene. It was rejected. He also claims that Montreal and the Islanders are both pursuing it heavily.

Supposedly MB offered Beau, Scherbak and a 1st to the Avs for Duchene and they turned it down.

Supposedly MB offered Beau, Scherbak and a 1st to the Avs for Duchene and they turned it down. Brendan Gallagher has had two hand operations and has been nonexistent this year ... I'd entertain moving him ... just not sure how much he has left given his injuries ... Cheers.

He got hit in the hand with a puck... twice...

True, but I would give him the summer to get his strength back.

I'd be willing to move him because I have doubts he'll be more than a 20/20 guy. Sell high.
Thinking about Sharp ... if he moves today, I have to think the value is now a conditional pick. Low rounder if he doesn't play more than 50% of remaining regular season games, then escalating a round in the draft for every round achieved in the playoffs.

Vanek to Florida for a 3rd and Dylan McIlrath and Detroit taken money on Vanek deal. Not a bad deal for Florida!

Vanek to Florida for a 3rd and Dylan McIlrath and Detroit taken money on Vanek deal. Not a bad deal for Florida! A falling asset in McIlrath and a middling pick in a weak draft. Vanek isn't fast, and he clearly left enough of a bad taste that Berg wasn't interested. He's got 5 goals in his last 27 play off games. TSN analysts claim he needs a center to drive play. I tend to agree. Because of his lack of speed, he often trails the play and sneaks in. Nothing wrong with that, but we're obviously lacking in the center department.

Lightning acquiring Streit from Flyers ... Lebrun.
Even as rental, lot of money to take on for Tampa. Feeling is, depending on return to Flyers, there may be other moves.
