Sounds as if Hughson and the boys are cheering for Vegas. It's a better story. The media always prefers the better story because it makes their lives easier. It's a prime reason they haven't all turned on Trump. He's way too good a creator of hype. If Trump was dull, he'd have been impeached by now.

Can't believe Cherry slamming Fleury the way he did. He said he would've pulled him. Then again, he always did lay the blame for a loss on either his goalies or the officials.
I can't fault MAF on any of the GA.
Kypreos said something like: Fleury was playing at what, a .950 pace? You can't keep that up. What we're seeing is Fleury coming back down to earth a bit.
Too easy.
The Knights have received a truckload of fortunate bounces during these playoffs at both ends of the ice. Last night, they didn't get any. Several tinks off the iron. Deflections off legs and skates going wide.
The Caps have also blocked a ton of shots....
Happy for DSP and Eller. They're really contributing.

Surprised he didn't say anything about the last 2 minutes. With a 5-2 lead & a 2 man advantage why did Trotz have Ovechkin out there? I didn't like it's the kind of thing Cherry latches on to.

I agree with the observations regarding game four. It is pretty absurd to blame Fleury. And Vegas is losing the plot right now. A bunch of guys--Miller, Neal, Engelland, McNabb, among others--need to refocus and stop raising the banner of physicality and chippiness because frankly that is not the Knights hockey identity let alone their strength and Washington has nothing to worry about if Vegas wants to play that game.

How many times has Cherry said you don't pull goalies mid-way through periods ... He manipulates any given situation to reiterate his genius. I don't know when he would've pulled MAF....as the 3rd Caps' goal came with around 20 seconds left in the first. There was one time Cherry wouldn't pull his goalie even though Sittler was having a 10-pt. night! Cherry's excuse: He had to leave Reece in for the "good of the team". Cheevers had just come back from the WHA, and he needed him the next night vs. Detroit. Lame-O. 1. Cheevers had played 28 games for the Cleveland Crusaders before coming back to Boston midway through that season. He was ready. 2. The Red Wings were one of the worst teams in the league, ending with 62 pts. The Bruins easily handled them 7-0 the next night. Meanwhile, it could be argued that the Leafs' game ruined Reece's confidence/reputation, as he never played in the league again--going on to fizzle out during the next two seasons in the AHL. He had been playing fairly well, backing up Gilbert. 2 shutouts in 13 games. 32 GA. 7-4-2 record. Then came that final game. 11 GA. But what do we hear all the time? Cherry was a players' coach. Reece, Astrom, McEwen (to name 3) might have a different opinion....

I hope the Caps win tonight so we can get on to the really fun stuff....trades and the draft. These dumb games are holding up all those far more interesting possibilities. Frankly, has anyone cared who won between these two teams? I’m watching the Blue Jays right now. How bad is that?
Ps. Have you Ontario guys voted for the Marijuana party yet?

LOL. I switched to the NHL game and they’re still jousting. May Vegas never make the playoffs again.

Washington scoring on perfect plays. Vegas scoring on ugly and questionable plays.

Former Habs strike. Smith-Pelley ties it, Eller scores the go-ahead goal with 7:30 to go.

I like everything this guy brings to the game ... the ultra-competitor ... good for Lars Eller and Davante Smith-Pelley ... would like to know what Gerard Gallant said to Eller in the postgame handshake ... Cheers.

That's one thing Bergevin and Therrien can't take away from them. (Lars and Devante) Also great that they were important contributors, not just hangers-on.
