Watching the news today, looks terrible in India. Hope it never gets that bad in Canada.

A tiny bit of relativly good news for Canadians....newest variant numbers... From April 19 to April 22....3 days UK...from 63,543 to 75,413..mostly in Ontario (44,205) SA.....from 415 to 463....mostly in Quebec (169) Brazil.... from 2,201 to 2,853...concentrated in BC (2,062) Further comment... UK....for the last 3 weeks it was doubling every week or less, now the rate has slowed down considerably to 2.3 week doubling or less then half as fast as it was before. Could be a good sign but we need several days to solidify that claim. SA.....big jump relative to previous weeks and because there are no backpages, I don't know where that jump is. It's concentrated in Quebec, but they only increased by 3 cases so the rest are elsewhere. Not good news because in theory, it has the mutation to be more infectious, but hasn't been. Luck or a time bomb... Brazil....slowed down a bit. Doubling about 1.5 weeks, it's better then last week where it was doubling about every week. So relative to previous report, we are slowing down considerably. If this rate of slowing down continuous, it's a really big deal. health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/epidemiological-summary-covid-19-cases.html#VOC

I have a mile wide sarcastic streak and couldn't help humming.....Don't Worry, Be Happy.....while reading through the latest variant articles. We are in the Whack-A-Variant world now were the next variant threatens to take us back to the beginning with a vengeance. It will be more infectious and deadlier..... I try not to discourage people about AZ, better with it then just hope. The first and ONLY issue I have with it is not the blood clots, it's the efficacy against SA variant. There is more SA breaking out somewhere else in Canada but the link I use does not have historic data, or at least, so far I can't find any. SA variant is a huge concern because it does have the mutation to be a lot more infectious and for some weird and thankful reason, it hasn't. Every week I fear that it may be like some nuke on a very slow drop...but so far....not as bad. But.....

In Toronto my sister and her husband received their first AZ jab yesterday, and logically they felt relieved to have a degree of protection in the midst of the heightened risk level everywhere. I was surprised when they told me the second dose will not be administered until the middle of August.

Very unlikely anyone is going to get an AZ second dose.
AZ is coming from India and right now they are BURNING with covid. Beyond horrific. It is so bad that they are literally turning into mutation central with double and triple mutations. At their current rate of vaccination, it's YEARS to get to 1.3 billion vaccinated.
Most likely you are getting a Pfizer second shot. Studies are on right now so within a few month, you should be good to go.
We are scheduled to get 2 million Pfizer a week and if the US supply is open to us, probably 4-5 millon a week.
Anywho....keep an eye on India because the mutations that are coming out of there may slice right through AZ and even Pfizer.
We live in a really f.up time....

I haven't posted daily numbers for a month. I gave up trying to figure out how bad it was going to be so why bother. I actually thought that UK was going to level at 100k...WAY WORSE then that. Now it's going the other way. Problem is that they post new numbers every day so unless I post them, it's impossible to see the history. So...May 20, Uk....175,324 SA....1,335 Brazil.....9,336 I'm not sure, but those numbers look like they barely changed from yesterday. Which is GREAT NEWS. Feel free to update them daily. I'll try. health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/epidemiological-summary-covid-19-cases.html#VOC

I got a Pfizer dose on Saturday and felt fine after minus the feeling of like I was punched in the arm a few hours after the shot. My only hesitancy was the time between two doses. Next one isn't scheduled until sep 11. I would of preferred the recommended 28 days period. I am not a pro or con vaccination person but I wasn't exactly jumping at this shot. I look at it as a more dangerous type of flu, and I never get those shots and seem to do fine each year. Unfortunately my age of invincibility is starting to show up in my rear view mirror.

I didn't pay attention to this but the more I think about it, I'm absolutely against it. A 12 TO 15 yesr old is not mature enough to consent to something that may have dire consequences. Let's say my 12 year went off with his/hers friends to get a vaccine that had issues surrounding it. As a parent, I would be massively more informed and weigh consequences then my twelve year playing Xbox one minute and getting a vaccine the next. Worse, my 12 year old may feel so coolz to run off with friends and do the coolz thing even if we had discussed it and brought up reason not to do it or delay it. It actually gets worse because there is NO minimum age. There is all kinds of wrong here and I'm not sure why there was ever a law that allowed it. I thought that it would be a Provincial Liberal law....but nope, it was under Mike Harris. WTF? www.thestar.com/news/gta/2015/01/20/ontario-law-allows-children-to-determine-medical-care.html#:~:text=%E2%80%9CIn%20Ontario%2C%20the%20law%20is,Youth%20that%20explains%20health%20care

Got my Pfizer shot today. Piece of cake so far. I only got it for yravel. When it does open up. Is this your 1st or second? First shot Jkr, get my 2nd sometime late September. I delayed it a little wanted my booster shot early fall. Be full effect late fall early winter. I didn't want to risk getting sick down south. No affect from it to this point. My left bicep feels a little stiff.
