Pacioretty gets his first of the playoffs....putting Vegas up 3-2 in the second.
The Wild's Greenway with one of the best examples of "What kind of checking is THAT?".
Yes, he stayed with Max...followed him right into the primo slot...and did nothing. Max gets the pass...point blank on Talbot. In the net.

I saw that. The coach should sit Greenway down & make him watch MP scoring the series winner over and over.

I had no idea it was Max's first game of the playoffs.
Suter left the front open, too....his back turned, watching the play in the corner. But Greenway, with the whole play in front of him, HAS to read that. Half-a-stride, tie up the stick, no goal.

I'm always baffled when I see such lax play in a very crucial situation. Greenway knows it's MP, a guy with a strong rep as a goal scorer yet he just lets him go. Well, he will have the rest of the summer to think about what might have happened if he had actually tried tried to backcheck.
I didn't know Pacioretty was injured either. I think this is an example of a trade that's working well for both sides.

Huberdeau with a similar no-effort when Point scored the dagger 3-0 goal other night.
Coasted from the blue line in and just watched Point score. Not another muscle fiber moved. I don't get it.

Tampa has so many weapons They have 5 of the top 15 point getters in the playoffs so far, those 5 have 41 points combined

Reaves, the Resident Moron, is getting suspended. Vegas is chocked full of tools.

Cross check to the head of the other team's goalie is super cheap. What a total loser.

Saw that sequence. He's going after Graves and decided to cheap shot Grubaur. After all of that, the Avs ended up with a 9 (nine) minute PP.
Vegas won't miss him.

This league should have ZERO tolerance for deliberate muggings.
The "heat of the moment", "unfortunate", and "didn't intend to hurt him" excuses should no longer be acceptable in such cases.
Lots of talk that Reaves should sit the rest of the way.

One could make the argument that Graves deserves a game for the hit on Janmark.

These were the 2 best teams in the league all season. Too bad they are meeting so early.
Vegas outshoots them 43-20.
Grubauer gets caught on the tying goal as Marchesault banks it in from behind the net. Pacioretty with the game winner again.

That is a tough one.
The Islanders-Bruins series is super chippy. Ritchie tried to take a run at Barzal and he ate a crosscheck to his jaw. A bunch of fights tonight too. Hall fought Mayfield, not sure why he did that. Tinordi may be a willing giant but Martin got the best of him.
Speaking of Tinordi, he is totally a marginal NHLer, but somehow Cassidy managed to get him 13-14 minutes of low event icetime. For that matter, two other dudes with obvious limitations like Clifton and Reilly logged decent minutes, 17 and 19 respectively.

Don't hear that very often.
Price took the whole 10 million, Marner held out for a massive deal, Nylander held out until the last day possible. Guess I'm being naive too when I expect players to make a financial sacrifice ( if making something like 8 million is a sacrifice) for the greater good of the team.
Maybe he wants to leave money on the table as Landeskog is UFA this year.

Wow... winning matters to this guy... he is an athlete that kids should look up to Never knew until recently, but Tom Brady took a pay cut, so Tampa could sign key defensive players, and I learned this wasn't the only time he did this ... I wonder if Nathan MacKinnon would have him a talk with Aaron Rodgers ... the solution everyone is providing the Packers, is to tender him a new deal and sign him at all costs, which I disagree with ... Cheers.

Krejci pulls a douche move like his buddy big nose Marchand and spears barzal in the nads and the league fines him... what kind of punishment is that?

In my world...the next 3 slaphots are nut removers..... I think the original call was 5 minutes for spearing, but only a minor was assessed for "slashing" (unless they changed that, too) ... these are the guys you want to make 'eat their lunches' ... I remember the last time the officials failed to call Milan Lucic for spearing guys in the pills ... "I'm not that kind of player" seemed to be the Bruins rallying cry that year, as other players around the league decided to test the officiating by pulling off the same thing ... the league eventually started calling these cheap shots, but not before a lot of guys got hurt ... Cheers.
