I'm not quite getting this last goal review - the Colorado goalie was clearly pushed on, and might well have kept the puck out, but he clearly didn't get to do his job.... and yet, the goal was allowed. Insane. And I'm fairly neutral, not really caring either way.

This league, really. Grubaeur was clearly pushed into the net and the on ice officials got it right. Then after review they decide that pushing the goalie into the net is OK. They are lucky it wasn't a tie game or OT when that ridiculous ruling was made.

Avs lead 1-0 after 1. With just a few seconds left in the period Saad lets a wrister go from the top of the circle, just to get something on goal. The problem for Vegas, Fleury reaches across his body to try to catch it and completely misses it. It drifts into the net with .8 seconds left. Just awful goaltending.

Fleury more than made up for it... I'd rather face Colorado, myself. We can shut down a few high-end talents more than we can generate offense when faced with a big, strong team all-around. ie, I'd rather face a more talented Toronto (Colorado) than a much-improved Jets type team (Vegas). But hey, they don't ask my opinion before giving refs their assignments...

They are lucky it wasn't a tie game or OT when that ridiculous ruling was made. It's almost as if the people doing the reviews don't realize a hockey stick isn't a delicate little match, but rather a piece of lumber that can be used to easily push someone on the ice.

Bruins are out, isles win in 6... woohoo... they called the Bergeron line the perfect line... Perfection line, but why quibble? The gall of that fan base. I love it. Window closing quickly for the Bruins. Marchand, Bergeron and Krejci all aging. Those last two are their key centres. McAvoy is a good dman and getting better. He'll be a handful. Carlo is also an above average defenseman. It falls off after that, though. Zboril isn't coming along as hoped and there's not much in the pipeline. The end is near for Bruins playoff appearances. Maybe one more year, max 2 left in that core group. They traded picks in the last few years, shoring up the line-up, and they also lost Keith Gretzky to the Oilers a few years ago. The scouting has suffered as a result.

Sad to see the Bruins out...said no Habs fan ever. Bye bye.
And then there was one. Let’s see if the Avs can win tomorrow to keep round two alive a little longer. If not, I guess the boys are headed to Sin City.

The Avs will lose because of Grubauer... that was ass weak ass goal
During the 1st intermission if the knights/avs game did Elliot Friedmann just say it was good to be at the big boys table after being at the kids table for the last 5 games... WTF?

Depth, two way players. Can't see Isles doing much. Hope they do though

That Kucherov LTIR thing definitely started to have a funny smell attached to it as the season progressed. Funny how he was skating for a full two months left in the season but was not declared healthy to play. Tampa’s management played that loophole perfectly, and the short season and the team’s depth enabled them to still get their playoff spot in a tough division. Yeah, other GMs no doubt will be talking about this at their next meetings. Dougie Hamilton blurting it out in the media definitely does nothing to hide this issue either. Let’s see how Bettman handles this to keep up his league’s squeaky clean imagine, along with that of his sunbelt darling franchise.

The Covid Cup of 2020 and the Covid Cup of 2021 both had the same final four matchups
NY Isles vs Tampa
Vegas vs Corey Perry’s team

But to date, NHL has refused to close this loop hole.

I knew the Rangers had fired their president & GM but missed the memo on the coach firing. He did the job in the World Championships and I still don't get why Vegas fired him. Good hire by NY.

Ahh ok, I thought you meant he got away with something... it would be interesting to sit in on the start of season sessions they have with the refs to hear what is said.
