Tampex turned into aholes when they ran up the score. They scored 2 goals, one on the PP, one by a 6th D man, after the penalty. At one point in that PP they had Maroon and Gourde on the ice. What are they supposed to do? Sit their first 2 lines and top 2 D for an entiire period because you are having a terrible game. One of their guys took a cheap shot when the period was over. They should pay for that. This is just another of those ridiculous NHL code things. One team is supposed to ease up because the other guys stink tonight. Like fighting after a clean hit. Like sending a message for the next game. These ideas belong in the trash can. The winning goal was scored at 45 seconds of the FIRST period. NY didn't show up for their most important game of the season, that's on them.

Watching the TB game and guess who is working the game - Chris Lee.
Instead of being disciplined for his awful work he gets rewarded with another assignment.
Way to go Stephen Walkom and the NHL.

Hrudey rightly called out the ref as Kucherov is crosschecked right in front of the ref with no call. Couldn't see who it was though and no one on th panel would say.

Maroon is getting stick checked by Martin, maroon lifts his stick up which brings maroons stick up and it clips Maroon and the ref calls a high stick on Martin... but the don't call a high stick that draws blood from KKs lip... jeebus

Mayfield #24 crosschecked him in the ribs from behind. Brutal. A player has no chance to protect himself. Right under the ref's nose. Kucherov then tried to body check Barzal and you could sense that the ribs were just too painful. Off he went...bent over. Talk of missing Game 7....maybe more. Another domino falling perhaps?

Can’t stand the lightning, but what world are we living in where mayfield goes around abusing tampa’s stars with impunity and then scores the game tying goal. Officials are one thing, but a guy like Maroon needs to settle things.

I was wondering who the referee was. Not sure if it was Lee. There was an incident at the end of the second when Stamkos was hit from behind into the boards and ended up with a bloody nose. No call. Even Gary Galley was calling out the refs. Where Lee goes, chaos follows.

Officials are one thing, but a guy like Maroon needs to settle things. It's like McNabb punching Suzuki with Lee standing right there. The league is descending into Slapshot territory where stars become targets. And Maroon did nothing after the Stamkos boarding other than mock the Isles with hand gestures at the end of the period. Isles come back from 2 down and win in OT when Coleman just hands the puck to Beauvillier. He does the same thing Mayfield did - high glove, short side to win it and tie the series.

Colin Campbell has final say I think... I thought Walkom was supervisor of officials. On the Sports Illustrated/The Hockey News link I posted in one of the GDTs, they ranted about how bad officiating was and they said it was on Colin Campbell Yup, see Lee be refering Isles game 6 tonight. So no chance we have to deal with him For Sports Illustrated/Hockey News to slam the reffing, that speaks volumes and gets Bettmans attention imo... they blamed the league and Colin Campbell "What's Up with NHL Officiating? - The Hockey News on Sports Illustrated" www.si.com/hockey/video/whats-up-with-nhl-officiating

BTW Chris Lee officiated the bolts/isles game and Kucherov took some pretty bad shots including a pretty severe cross check... he is out and not sure if he will be playing in Game 7

It was a exciting to see the Isles win it in OT (heckuva give away Tampa), but yeah the officiating rears its ugly head again.

It was O'Rourke who missed Marchessault's high-stick on Perry.

NHL.com has him in there last night along with Dwyer & Charron. One is the backup ref.

As far as I'm concerned this has been a major coming out party for Matthew Barzal. At least for me. I'm blown away by that kid.

Not sure who I want to face. Lightning has A great goalie and fire power but we've shut down other teams stars. Islanders are like us. Pound and grind. Not sure our forwards can take another 7 day beating. I am leaning towards face islanders.

We can put Dan0 against the barzal and match the rest up no probs... our > the isles, our goalie > Varlamov We can put Dano against the bolts top line but their 2nd line is very very good, dont know how our forwards match up... bbn lots of fire power Our d = their d Our goalie >= vasilesky I picks the isles

Speaking of the Leafs, they just hired Ryan Hardy of the Chicago Steel to be their director of minor league development. That is a big catch, as he has been a brilliant GM with the Steel and has built a really progressive program that is really paying dividends in the USHL and their ability to attract and develop top junior talent. One of the really bright and up and coming hockey minds.
