Roy gets to hang out with the Rocket along with fellow young prospect Kidney. Good experience for young Joshua. Yes it is great for them and great for us too

1-0 Rocket after 2. Martel with a rocket on a break. Nice pass by Gignac.

Springfield ties it with 3 minutes to go and then takes it in OT, 2-1. Primeau was 3rd star saving 37 of 39 shots. Unfortunately the second star was a Joel Hofer, Blues prospect, who stopped 41 of 42 shots. Guy wasn't that good in the regular season with a .905 save percentage but is hitting .965 in the playoffs. Just have to keep peppering him until the pops.

A huge win for the Rocket today in Springfield 4-2 to get a split of the first two games in Springfield. Ylönen with a huge game with a goal and two assists. His speed has been causing Springfield fits in the first two games. That was Springfield’s first loss of these playoffs. The series now switches to games 3-5 in Laval. Primeau was in net for the B2B games and had another good game. Springfield switched up to ex-Hab Charlie Lindgren, what took the loss. I expect they go back to Hofer next game, as he has been lights out these playoffs.
Hughes, Gorton, Sedgwick and MSL were at last night’s game. Hope they stuck around for this one too!
A sweet assist by Ylönen on RHP’s goal.
Ylönen sneaks one through Lindgren.
And why not hear from the man himself post game.

A huge week ahead for Laval for sure. Game three of the conference final goes tonight in front of another sold out barn with the series all tied up at one. Games four and five follow in Laval. They handed Springfield its first playoff loss last game, can they do it again? We sure hope so.
Interesting to see the success of the Bakersfield Condors coaching staff from last season. Woodcroff and Manson took the Oilers to the NHL conference finals and Houle, Woodcroff’s other assistant, has Laval firmly in the thick of things in the AHL conference finals.

Fun fact for tonight’s game. Laval Rocket are sold out for fans, but had to open an extra media section for all the extra requests from media/scouts to attend.

A few injuries look to be opening a door for the youngster.

Huge game tonight in Laval. It would be great if the boys pull it out.
I was pleased to see Ylonen come up big the other night. I see a lot of positives in his game. Would it be too much to dream that he could become a Kyrou-lite? I see similarities in terms of stature/physique, blazing speed, and good shot. But Kyrou is probably a cut above in terms of dangle, vision and playmaking.

Ex Hab prospect Will the Spill Bitten with the last four goals to win 6-2. You cannot make this crap up, he was on fire and motivated to show that the team let him get away. A huge playoffs for him. Nice guy, so bittersweet as I always liked him as a fast fun prospect.
Home ice advantage is back to the dudes that have only lost one game so far. Uphill for the boys. Get one back in two nights, boys.

I liked Bitten when the Habs picked him in 2016 and I was not excited when Bergevin traded him for a warm body. Speed, some skill, and competitiveness are a package that makes for a nice tweener. But he is smallish and frankly not more skilled than offensive forwards in the NHL. Bitten will be 24 years old this summer and has never played an NHL game, so the only place he will likely haunt the Canadien is right now in the AHL playoffs.
Well, hopefully the boys get up off the mat quickly because game 4 really seems to be do or die.

The Rocket game was bonkers in a few different ways. They got down 2-0 early with a slow start and it sure looked like the series was headed into the bin. But, the boys were resilient and fought back. They tied it up and RHP won it in OT. They handed Springfield only its second playoff loss (both at the hands of the Rocket) and goalie Hofer his first loss in the playoffs. Primeau stood tall and shut the door the rest of the way for the win.
After RHP scored, the place went nuts and the Rocket all jumped out to pile on RHP. In the ensuing celebration near the exit for the Springfield team, a few of their guys entered the melee and chaos ensued. Loads of penalties, including a spearing major to goalie Hofer. We shall see if there is any further league sanctions for the scrum.
The celebration and subsequent brouhaha.

Laval up 2-0 on two goals from RHP. He has the team’s last three goals and has awoken offensively this series.

Primeau kept the game close, but in the end Springfield got the winner in OT. Back to Springfield for game 6, and 7 if necessary. Never say never, but an uphill battle for the boys now for sure.

Injuries taking its toll, as Schnarr is not good to go tonight. Do or die for Laval on the road down 3-2. Nice to see Fairbrother get some action as he missed a ton this year due to injuries.

5-1 huge win for Laval to force game seven. Ylönen likely not available for said game seven as he was injured tonight.
Martel (x2), Gignac, Condotta, and Bourque with the goals. Primeau with 30 saves for the W.
Win or lose (hopefully win of course), this has been quite a run for the Rocket.

Good season for the Rocket. There are a lot of positive takeaways, in particular the way Primeau's development appears to have a taken a big step forward. I was not a believer initially, but I have come around to the idea that Harvey-Pinard is likely to carve out a NHL career.

If I recall his play correctly, he's another guy who has limitations because of size (5' 9", 182 lbs), but has a high hockey IQ. His +/- through his juniour and early pro career have been consistently positive and often high.
Maybe a Lehkonen style? Two inches shorter but same weight.

Small and skating is not great, but he never quits and is tenacious on the puck. Yeah, his hockey IQ and work ethic are good for sure. A real poor man’s Gally. They have already thrown the A on his jersey too, so he is held in high regard by the organization.

It will be interesting to see how many of their veteran or current defenders the Rocket bring back given the incoming class of recently signed prospects on D. The team does need a balance of experience and youth, but you also want to ensure a young player who hopes to be a key part of the Habs in the future does get sufficient ice time for development.

These three will mainly be for Trois-Rivières or for injury call ups.

Not a big surprise here. This is the same path as RHP. Habs still have his NHL rights for another year, so this is a free one year audition in the minors. He is very small though.
