Four point night for Mailloux as London win 5-0 and sweep Guindon and Owen Sound. Guindon could join Laval on an ATO even though he does not have an ELC and will return to juniors next year.
Mešár lights the lamp as Kitchener stun the great Shane Wright and Windsor in four straight. First time in OHL history #8 sweep #1.

Minnesota and Pitlick prevail over BU and Tuch/Hutson 6-2 to advance to the Frozen Four finals. Pitlick with a goal, but what a feed to set it up!
Pitlick is the last Habs NCAA prospect playing now and has a chance to win a national championship. I guess the watch is on to see if Tuch signs or if he announces he will return to BU next season.

Mešár lights the lamp as Kitchener stun the great Shane Wright and Windsor in four straight. First time in OHL history #8 sweep #1. Grant McCagg posted a tweet stating that Mailloux was matched up against Owen's Sound's Colby Barlow...a pretty good scorer. While Mailloux was on the ice for 112 minutes over the 4 games, 2 goals were scored against him. If you do the math, that's 28 minutes a game. He played a lot and played well, obviously. Hopefully he is learning the other side of the game.

Unfortunately, of all the prospects we had in the final 4, our worst ends up in the finals. I don't have high hopes for Pitlick and I will admit I am biased.

Last night, Kidney had an assist as Gatineau cruised to a 6-1 win to take their series in five and move on to round two.
Rohrer and the 67s can book their spot in the OHL round two with a win this afternoon.
A fun fact as to why these stories are related is both teams currently share Gatineau’s home rink while the World Men’s Curling Championships are being hosted in Ottawa at the 67s rink. That event wraps up this weekend, so the 67s will get their rink back once they reconvert it to a hockey rink again sometime later in the week.

Engström’s SHL playoffs and season are over, but he is playing in the J20 playoffs with Rögle. They won their single knockout semi final game today and face Leksand in the final tomorrow. That would be a nice bow on the season for the young man if they win.

Rögle scored 4 in the third including three unanswered to run away with the J20 championship game today 6-2. Congratulations to Adam Engström on a championship and great season overall.

The brothers Tuch (including as of yet unsigned prospect Luke) will be suiting up for the USA at the World’s.

Roy is having himself quite the playoffs. He had a six point night last night with a hattie and three helpers. He leads the Q way n playoff scoring with 18 points in 6 games. A 3.0 ppg pace even for six games is nuts (and obviously not sustainable). The Phoenix are up 2-0 in their second round series.

With this assist last night, Kidney kept his crazy point streak going. He has 13 points in 7 playoff games and he had a six point night earlier in the first round series. Gatineau are up 2-0 as well in their second round series.

The OHL playoffs feature two series with prospects going head to head. London and Mailloux definitely have the edge in their battle with Kitchener and Mešár, as they are up 2-0 in the series heading into game three today. Mailloux has 8 points in 6 games and Mešár has 3 points in six games. Whomever loses this series could join the Rocket for their playoff run if they are still playing.

Ottawa (Rohrer) are up 1-0 in their series against Peterborough (Beck) heading into game two this afternoon.
Rohrer had a two assist game in the last game and has 8 points in 6 playoff games. Beck has 3 points in 5 playoff games. The prospect whose team loses this series would also be eligible to join Laval if they are still playing.

Mailloux gets the empty netter as London win 4-0 tonight to win their series against Kitchener in five games. Mailloux is off to round three. Mešár can join Laval if he hurries 😝.
Beck adds the empty netter and Rohrer gets an assist on the only Ottawa goal as Peterborough continue to shock Ottawa and hold a 3-1 series lead in their series.
