No offense intended toward Rohrer, but I'd much rather that Beck moved on. Good result, but Peterborough and chinney chin, chin, seem to go well together the last two games.

Down to the league semi finals in the CHL, and five prospects are still going strong. The Habs actually have prospects in five of the six semi final series. I predict three or four will advance as my money is on Seattle to continue their torrid pace of winning this round too (they are 8-0 so far and looking very strong with everyone healthy now), London are peaking at the right time, and those two Q teams have been really dominant to date.

Round three of the CHL playoffs started for three prospects last night.
Beck had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 Peterborough win to open the series.
Mailloux had no points, but London won their game 4-1. Kidney was held without a point as well (a rarity) as Quebec took game one over Gatineau 5-2.
In the USHL, goalie Croteau was pulled as Lincoln took game one of their second round USHL series against Waterloo.

Roy’s goal made it 4-1. It is now 5-2 Sherbrooke in the third.

I am pumped to see Roy on the Rocket next season. It was probably more than a month ago, but Craig Button during an intermission hit on TSN actually had Roy slotted in with the Habs, which may be an optimistic stretch. Time will say, though there is no denying this kid looks like a gamer.

Some more Davey Gravy to open the scoring. 2-1 TBirds right now.

It was probably more than a month ago, but Craig Button during an intermission hit on TSN actually had Roy slotted in with the Habs, which may be an optimistic stretch. Time will say, though there is no denying this kid looks like a gamer. I was going to suggest that we shouldn't underrate Mr. Roy. He was such a key part of Canada's WJC team and really elevated the play of many of his teammates. He has a very high hockey IQ and those sneaky hands that steal pucks and then he's a step ahead, already knowing his next play. My question would be around his backchecking. Is he quick enough to get back and put pressure on opposing wingers? If he is, I think he has a good chance at starting in Montreal. He's not 18, and he's faced great pressure. It's a challenge, but I wouldn't put it past him. Jared Davidson is going to start in Laval. I see him as a a potential 3rd line centre, battling with Owen Beck for that role. Maybe he can go to the wing and spell Beck when necessary. It's never bad to have too many centres.

Unfortunately, Beck is not eligible to play in Laval. So basically it is Montreal or OHL. To be fair, though, I do not think it will hurt him to play his D+2 season in the O. It did not hurt Suzuki's development. And it is the offensive nuance of his game in the final third of the ice that needs refinement and positive reinforcement through constant reps.
Yeah, Davidson should be a positive addition to the Rocket. I have not really watched him much. And the AHL should be a good step in order to see if his skating is up to par and whether he can process the game rapidly enough in all three zones when playing against pros.
Nothing against Jake Evans personally, but for me it would be nice in a couple years if the Habs have a 4C with a little more physical durability and jam.

Generally, a tough outing for the five CHL prospects in action last night.
Kidney had an assist, but Quebec prevailed 5-4 in OT to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Is Kidney’s last career junior game the next one? We shall see.
Roy was held without a point and Halifax took the game last night. Sherbrooke still up 2-1 in their series.
Mailloux had two assists, but it was not enough as Sarnia won 5-3 as London now leads the series 2-1.
Beck was held without a point, but Peterborough edged North Bay to take a 2-1 series lead.
Seattle suffered their first playoff blemish and Davidson did not get any points. The TBirds still lead Kamloops 2-1 in their series.

Last night’s action in the CHL.
Kidney had an assist on Gatineau’s only goal as Quebec won the game 3-1 and swept the series. Kidney is done with juniors.
Mailloux had two assists, but Sarnia won 6-3 and evened the series at two apiece.
Beck was without a point and North Bay won the game 5-2 to even their series at two as well.
Roy and Davidson in action tonight. Both their teams enjoy a 2-1 series lead.

Last night, Davidson had a 1+1 night as Seattle won 8-4 and take a 3-1 series lead.
Tonight, Beck scored but North Bay dominated and won 6-2 to take a 3-2 series lead.
Mailloux had an assist as London won 5-2 tonight and now lead Sarnia 3-2.

Davidson set a franchise playoff goal scoring record last night, but it was not enough as Kamloops prevailed 4-2. Series is now 3-2 for Seattle.
Mailloux scored right after getting out of the box and London advances to the OHL finals with a 5-1 win today.
Quebec shutout Sherbrooke 1-0 today as their goalie continued to steal this series. Quebec advances and Roy and Sherbrooke are unfortunately done.
Beck with an assist in a game that the Petes just won 4-3 in OT. The series is going the distance to game 7.

Davey Gravy tied it up in the second. Seattle can advance with a win on the road tonight.
Edit: Davidson ends up with a 1+1 night, Seattle wins the game and the series 4-2.
Three prospects are playing in their league finals: Davidson, Mailloux and Beck.

In the world championship friendly between the USA and Germany, Hutson and Farrel click...
The shootout moves by Hutson are sick! He's moving the puck and his feet... the goalie must be mesmerized

TSN will be showing the later games from all three CHL final series either across its various channels or on its streaming platform. The OHL finals is a good one for Habs’ prospects watchers as it is a head to head with highly regarded Mailloux and Beck. TSN will have games 3 onwards.

Mailloux with the bomb in a 5-3 loss yesterday. Series all tied up at one win apiece. Same situation out west in a battle of the western giants Seattle Vs Winnipeg. Both Beck and Davidson were without a point in their respective games yesterday, but both their teams won!
