Beck with no points in a 5-2 SSM win over Saginaw. Series knotted at one win apiece.

Mešár is currently tied for OHL playoff scoring with 13 points and first with 12 assists. Beck is tied for 8th in playoff scoring with 10 points.

Mešár with two more assists in a 6-4 loss last night. He still leads the OHL playoffs with 14 assists and is tied for first with 15 points. On the downside, London is up 3-0 in the series and Kitchener is in win or go home stage.
His season could very well continue though. He could go to Laval if they sneak into the playoffs, or he could also get an invite to play for Slovakia at the Worlds. More to come.

Mešár assisted on the third Rangers goal to make it 4-3, but that is all she wrote. London sweep in 4 and Mešár’s junior career is over.
Laval or Worlds? We shall see.

Beck with no points, but Saginaw win 3-2 in OT and take the edge 3-2 in a very physical and tight series. This one is a battle.

Some info off Habs Prospects site. Games tonight in Europe and OHL
Vincent Rohrer, Zurich leads Lausanne 2-1 in the Swiss National League final. The game's in Lausanne.
Owen Beck. Game 7 goes tonight in Saginaw. Do or die. Quarter finals vs Sault Ste. Marie
Adam Engstrom played yesterday and got no points in the SHL final for Rogle vs Skelleftea, but Rogle did win 1-0, so the series is tied 1-1. Skelleftea started off the series with home ice advantage, but Rogle has taken that away (for now). Rogle finished 9th and was basically a .500 hockey team but found their legs late in the season and started beating teams in the playoffs. Hopefully Engstrom has been a part of that and he may be on the top pairing. NWT might know better.

Someone created this and put it on IG Thanks Willie. It's pretty good. I'm not sure about Farrel being in there, but what the heck and I chuckled at Berkley Catton's inclusion. I know he's smaller (5' 11" use to be average, cheesh), but there's some awesome skill and vision in that guy. I wouldn't be disappointed with either him or Iginla.

Skelleftea was the 3rd best team I think. It'd be a pretty cool story if they could pull this off.

Hopefully Engstrom has been a part of that and he may be on the top pairing. NWT might know better. They have moved Engström around a lot in the playoffs. Last game, he played on the third pairing with Habs legend Brandon Davidson. In another game that went to OT, he played over 31 minutes of ice time. He has been involved for sure and the whole underdog story is cool to follow. Beck was held pointless last night, but Saginaw prevailed 3-1 in game 7 in a brutally tough and physical series against SSM. The key about Beck’s game is it is not always about putting up offense, but also about shutting the other guys down and taking lots of key faceoffs. Zurich and Lausanne now tied at two wins each. Pretty cool that 19 year old Rohrer is getting all this “bonus” hockey this season in the NL. Kapanen is playing with the Finnish national team as part of their training camp and exhibition games leading up to the Worlds. Hopefully he sticks with the final lineup.

I saw one tweet saying he was on the top line, but that would only be temporary as other players would become available. The hope was 4th line centre. He's still young for a national team spot. One has to be impressed with his development the last 2 years. His D+1 year was an injury filled one, playing about half a season and split between Liiga and the juniour level. But he had a solid D+2 year with 27 points in 55 games. This season he went 14-20-34 in 51 games, a good improvement and then bloomed in the playoffs with 7-7-14 in 13 games. He's also defensively responsible, so this kid is a legitimate contender for a bottom 6 spot on the Habs, IMO. He was a (cough) Timmins pick at #64, last in the 2nd round and just after Riley Kidney,

Skelleftea win 2-1 in OT to take a 3-1 lead over Rögle in the SHL finals. Engström with over 19 minutes of ice time, but no points.
Lausanne win and even up the NL finals with Zurich Lions. Rohrer wit 11 minutes of ice time, but no points. Game 7 coming up to decide the title.

The other day, Engström and Rögle were shutout and lost the SHL finals in five. Still a great showing considering their ranking in the regular season.
In Switzerland, it was a different story and Zurich Lions won 2-0 today and Rohrer had an assist, so Zurich and Rohrer are NL champions.

Rohrer plays in the Swiss league, eh? I did not know that. Did Montreal want to stash him Europe when his time with the 67s ended? Or did he prefer to start professionally back in the Old Continent?

He moved after one season in Ottawa, so there must have been some back and forth between him and the club. It actually extends his “rights period” to 4 years versus 2 years as a result of the move… so he can simmer and develop there a bit longer. Good for both parties IMO.

London has several good players and a high prospect in Sam Dickinson. Haven't seen them play, but they don't appear to be a high scoring team. They are mature, though with a lot of older juniours.

Things are getting very crowded on D in both Montreal and Laval. I can see someone moved to firm up some more young offensive talent with the big club. Playing from a position of strength.

I've always been high on Engstrom, but then again, I liked Norlinder too. Maybe I can hit on half. Excellent skater and definitely offensively oriented. Hockeydb has him at 6', 168 lbs but from his highlights he looks bigger than that. I think he plays at 6' 1", 190 when filled out. I need a reality check, or at least a measurement check.
One thing, he wouldn't have gotten an entry level contract if the Habs didn't like him.

It is nice to see this kid progress and now sign a professional contract with the Habs (I confess I had zero idea who he was when they picked him).
Engstrom looks like he has some skill, mobility, and good hockey awareness. And he does appear to have a pro frame, so adding weight and strength seem entirely plausible. Given Montreal's defensive depth, there is no need to push him faster than his development in Laval will actually justify. I sort of see a more old school pathway for him where a young blueliner would for sure play a couple of full AHL seasons before an organization judged what the future holds.
