Savard, swimming as usual. Has the puck at centre after a good interception and has an open man back at his own blue line but chooses to backhand it to the Leafs who bring it back and cycle forever. Later , he blocks a shot, is laying down awkwardly, and a teammate comes to grab the puck. Savard panics and kicks it away right to a Leaf and they cycle forever again. Sheesh what a doorknob he is. Ya...i'll never understand "veteran-aucity"...he's always floundering out there and yet at the last break he was second on the team with 20:08 TOI |

Maybe I’m picking on Savard but he is on the ice for a lot of our zone time. PxP guys said Habs 4 th line being hemmed in. NO. Just their bad luck to be out there with Savard.

That goal set up by Slaf keeping the puck in the zone. He’s done some real stealing today. wondering if this has been his best game yet... It has been. Very good all around. This should boost his confidence. He was the 4th guy on Newhooks 2nd goal but deserved an assist. So happy for him. |

This blue team still reeks of a one and done team. I don’t see them digging in like the lesser talented guys in bleu-blanc-rouge. I know it is only game one, but at least the boys are competing and not quitting despite being overmatched talent wise.
