Might as well start a fresh injury thread for the new season, kicking things off with a doozy.

I'm starting to get concerned about Dach. Looking at his stats, he seems unable to get through a season without injury.

Strange. I've watched the replay of that hit a few times and it just looks like an ordinary body check into the other bench. His back was facing the ice, he fell back into the other bench, his leg didn't appear to get jammed but Tinordi is blocking a full view. Did he already have an injury that might have been aggravated on that play? That really sucks.

Oct 16 and both Dach and Heineman likely to be placed on LTIR. The more things change, the more they stay the same. This team just can't stay healthy.

Sit Dach for the year... we know there will be more injuries... let's have another tank agreed. have to assume it's an MCL/ACL but whatever it is...FIX it. Don't play around. If there's potential for surgery, schedule it and get it done. Pretty heartbreaking to use a year of development for Dach and the impact on the overall roster. Was looking forward to that 2nd line as dressed in game 1. Thought it had huge potential.

I'm beginning to think this team is cursed. I read on the EOTP site that Heineman was injured after colliding with an official.

Did he already have an injury that might have been aggravated on that play? That really sucks. That was my initial thought. Looked pretty innocuous. Watching again, however, it looks like Tinordi's right skate might have jammed Dach's left skate as the initial point of contact, and then followed through with the body. Edit. Re-watched and noticed a couple of other possibilities: His right leg still pointing forward, and planted as the rest of his body gets rotated perpendicular to the bench. Or When Dach is in the Chicago bench Tinordi's right leg gets caught on Dach's right leg and drags it forward. youtu.be/BJt6N1uTh2w?si=YUOeUqug4Bx643iG

He plays like a $hit while he's with us and then hurts our best player on a nothing play.

If this keeps up, we may very well have a shot at Demidov, Eiserman, Celebrini. Ok, who on the training staff do we fire this year? Do we have a voodoo group we can replace?

Losing Dach is a major blow. The play certainly looked like a nothing sort of thing. I feel for Dach. Injuries have really gotten in the way of the kid's professional development.

Torn ACL and MCL for Dach. Prepare to hear he is out 6-8 months

I'm beginning to think this team is cursed. I read on the EOTP site that Heineman was injured after colliding with an official. I think it was Trevor Timmins that once claimed the team was cursed because the Bell Center was built on some ancient burial site or something ... I believe he was referring to cursed with first round draft picks, but that could very well be extended to injuries, winnning, etc

Torn ACL and MCL for Dach. Prepare to hear he is out 6-8 months When I played soccer, I hated playing against inexperienced, awkward, (read athletically challenged) guys because you were more likely to be injured against one of them then against the toughest, dirtiest centre backs around. They have no clue what they're doing. Ergo.. Jared Tinordi.

Torn ACL and MCL for Dach. Prepare to hear he is out 6-8 months Seriously, where is the luck? The ghosts of the forum have surely abandoned us. I really didn't want to cheer for a tank this year. I really felt Dach was on the cusp of something special. Sigh.. Can't wait to watch more Armia

I wasn't expecting playoffs, but I was expecting a more competitive team with kids at all positions having some strong games, showing the potential for a brighter future when they developed consistency. Now, it looks like a 1-line team that will struggle to get any kind of secondary scoring. After Suzfield, we'll have Monahan, Anderson, Slaf and Newhook, and the coaches will have to find a way to get a 2nd line out of all that. Blech.

Aside from this is now going to be a very difficult season, the damage to Dach's develplment may be even worse. Missing a whole season will not be good. I supoose the updide is other players (Newhook) will get more reps but they were going to get those anyway. Dach will get nothing!

Anyone know when Christian Dvorak is due back ... I initially thought the team was good enough to be one of those teams in a train wreck for the last wildcard ... no so sure about that now ... terrible news about Kirby Dach ... and all this comes from a hit by Jarred Tinordi ...
Cheers.

Scoring was always going to be an issue for this team. Injuries were also on everyone's long list of "ifs" coming into this season. So not sure where the optimism was coming from. This was always a high 60-low 70 point team. Kirby Dach didn't move that needle. He isn't a player that costs 10 points in the standings, that's the point differential of real studs in this league, not a player that hasn't played a full season in 3-4 years, and hasn't shown any potential yet

If you can't sign one, you need to draft one. I just hope Cooley and Michkov aren't those in the future.

I was hoping that 10 games before the deadline, it wouldn't be blatantly obvious to the most casual of fans that we have to be sellers, and right now it seems blatantly obvious we will be.... all of 2 games in.

Perhaps better than PLD, and some thought he might even take #1 away form Suze in time. Perhaps we were just being fans but hope is all we had. Now we may never know whethe rit was a false hope. This is a huge loss for both this season and perhaps a lot longer.

This isn't like the series of late-season injuries last season when we already knew the season was toast, we're still at the "hey, a guy can hope, right?" phase, so it stings.

I think Dach is a top 6 player. He just needs to stay healthy. Huge bummer. I still don't know how that hit ended up being so bad.

On the bright side of things, now we get to find out what Newhook brings as a center? If not, Monahan can step in as the number 2 and increase his trade value!
