I'm confident Kirby can make a full recovery. This surgery has become pretty routine across the sports landscape and athletes can fully recover. I think it can be harder in basketball where guys rely on planting and exploding the leg. Hockey is, theoretically, more forgiving on the knees. It was just a freak accident. As I said earlier, I think we already have our franchise level centers in Suzuki and Dach and an elite sniper in Caufield. But they have to show it and stay healthy. Another top 5 pick would be nice but I would have happily foregone that this year for a "we've arrived" kind of performance from our best forwards. As it is, Suzuki and Caufield have a lot of weight on their shoulders. Dach really would have spread that around and taken some of the burden off their shoulders. I've always been of the opinion that you need at least 3 years of back to back to back top 5 draft picks to build yourself an annual contender (Chicago, Pens) unless you draft a generational player where only 2 are required. We're getting there, but still have a little suffering left.

Awesome. 😔 Nothing official from the team yet. Who is @itovitch? They should be banned from ever reporting on injuries again. Hate in when people put out misinformation. Not fair to the player or the fans!

That's why i thought Dubois would of had an oversized impact simply by taking pressure and attention away from Suzuki and CC. Same for Dach. With both of them in the line-up, the front end would be in a different level. Not contender level but certainly mid upper range of forward firepower. It would accelerate our rebuild by years. Spilled milk...

The @iatovich account on twitter has evaporated.
Betting it was a Laff or Booins fan having some "fun".
Misinformation spreads like wildfire...and truth like a snail...

We're getting there, but still have a little suffering left. We suffered two terrible years and had two high pick’s but didn’t draft any great players. We have been told our shelves are stocked with great prospects but we are sliding backwards in the results department.

A couple of additional thoughts on the Dach injury. Given his history of injuries maybe flipping him for Dubois was the right choice. I think in future if there's an opportunity for a (somewhat) lateral move, where we acquire a more durable asset then you pull the trigger. That said, PLD has had injury troubles himself, but not to the extent of Dach.
That said I'm all in on Dach, and I'm hopeful of a full recovery. Recall when Markov had that string of injuries that cost him the better part of three seasons. He returned and had 4 straight healthy seasons. Here's hoping that Kirby can enjoy a similar full recovery and subsequent string of good health.

Then HFTV should be ashamed of posting the nonsense! Some people and/or organizations are obsessed with likes and followers on twitter, thus they spread BS to get some. I'm on there and I couldn't care less for either. In fact, I've lost or banned "followers" more then I currently have.

They played a clip of Kovacevic talking about Guhle and he kind of let it slip that Guhle will probably be out for a couple of weeks. The only good thing is their schedule has very few games over that time, so hopefully that is really the case and Guhle is only put back in the lineup when he is 100% in 2 weeks.

Dvorak back in a regular jersey. Could have another centre back soon. Guhle also skated on his own before practice.

Is it correct that Dvorak cannot be activated until November 4 due to the rules regarding LTIR duration?

Is it correct that Dvorak cannot be activated until November 4 due to the rules regarding LTIR duration? If you are on LTIR you have to miss 10 games (and 24 calendar days)

On the bright side of things, now we get to find out what Newhook brings as a center? If not, Monahan can step in as the number 2 and increase his trade value! I was looking forward to seeing what Monahan and Newhook can do! We are a mediocre team and need to hustle and outwork the opposition to win against better players. It can be done. We can't rely on superstars in the lineup just showing up to collect two points. I'm not against hard work, team spirit and hustle.

Is it correct that Dvorak cannot be activated until November 4 due to the rules regarding LTIR duration? That is what puckpedia and RDS are reporting and it aligns with the rules (see Skilly’s post).

Hutson left the game last night after getting thumped. We should hear more later as to the extent of the injury.

Hutson left the game last night after getting thumped. We should hear more later as to the extent of the injury. It was a brutal shot from a much bigger guy... Lane better get used to it because he will be targeted Go to the 12:50 mark and the goof jumps when delivering the hit... dont think there was a call

We use to be the Teletubies Habs, now we're the BandAid Habs...
I wonder if equipment has anything to do with it? I see those new gloves and they offer nowhere near the protection with what i grew up. Same thing with pads that are now more like metal shuelds that can inflict much higher damage to unprotected body parts.

David Savard will be out indefinitely with an upper-body injury.
The Canadiens have recalled defenseman Gustav Lindström from the Laval Rocket on an emergency basis.

Hats off to Savard for throwing himself in front of those Tage Thompson clappers. Looks like his arm was broken on the first one, and then his skate blade on the second - and he still stayed out there for over a minute on the kill afterwards.

Lindstrom has played 4 games for Laval. He has no points and is a -6. I understand that the young guys should stay in Laval and learn but watching Lindstrom looks like it will be painful.

If it means that Mailloux, Norlinder, Trudeau and Struble get even more reps in Laval, then I am fine with this short term fix. Lindström is more of a warm body than the most talented to call up.

I think the first one hit his hand. (Could have been his arm though) That shift was all guts, and his best ever as a Hab - and did it with a broken hand/arm and one skate!
