Big nose scores the empty netter... loafs lose at home I know that we all hate this guy but he has come through for Boston. He scores the winner. With 2 goals tonight he already has 6 points. And going back to the last 4 games of the season the Leafs have now lost 6 of 7.

And going back to the last 4 games of the season the Leafs have now lost 6 of 7. He tied Neely for most playoff goals in B's history with 55 Impressive milestone considering the players that have worn the Bruins uniform, It also says that Boston has played a lot of playoff hockey during his career. He also hit 400 goals late this season. That one really surprised me.

I looked the nhl site for most playoff goals in history... records.nhl.com/records/playoff-skater-records/goals/most-goals-career-playoffthe province of quebec has created some of the most effective playoff goal scorers Mike Bossy 129GP, 85G The Rocket 132GP, 82G Claude lemieux 234GP, 80G Gros Bill 162GP, 79G Mario Lemieux 107GP, 76 GPG wise Mario was the best, but for a guy who didnt get big minutes and play on top lines, all Claude Lemieux did was score playoff goals

Not to absolve Oettinger of all responsibility, but what the frick is Dallas doing with an old goat well past expiration date like Suter out there in a high leverage situation?

Good find Willie, for sure, Claude Lemieux was a clutch gamer. As the window to compete for the playoffs starts to open, Montreal could only dream about having a skilled, mobile, big body, mean shet disturber like him on the roster.

Keefe and the loafs interviewed were crying about marchand... they forgot they had 5 powerplays another 1 or 2 wouldn't make a difference

Sportscentre and Leafsnet will be fun tonight Watcthing TSN. The Leafs looking like whiners complaining about Marchand & the stuff he gets away with. Keefe should be crying about his 0 for 5 PP and his goaltending. That Fredrric goal was brutal.

With nothing to spare, somehow Vancouver managed to drag themselves out of the first round. I cannot imagine a third string goalie or DeSmith will weather the weapons the Oilers can throw at them.

Another issue for Vanvouver is that during this series Hughes & Petterson didnt score , only managing 8 assists between them.

The Oilers have a good team, with speed and size. Somehow I still don't feel all that comfortable about them. They should beat the Canucks. After Hughes and Hronek, the quality of the D leaves something to be desired. Soucy is Edmundson 2.0, Cole's aging. Myers and Zadorov are big, good skating doofuses. Exactly not the IQ we want on the Habs. Not that Edmonton's defense is marvellous either, but there are fewer holes. Every round is a reset, so even if Hughes and Pettersson didn't score much in the first round, (the Preds pressure more than the Oilers IMO), they could break out any time. Pettersson assisted on the winning goal yesterday, winning a board battle to keep the puck in the zone on a line change when Miller couldn't get on soon enough, so he was with different line mates. It might spark and idea in Tocchet's head. The Canucks have been a very resilient team this year, so I wouldn't think they're going down easily to the Oilers. But Edmonton should win.

Silovs is better than DeSmith and the Canucks are in better shape for it. The DeSmith injury was a blessing in my opinion. The Canucks biggest concern is their lack of scoring. Petterson looked like a shadow of himself and seemed to have lost his confidence. The puck was a hand grenade for him. Nashville played tough on Hughes and he looked pretty beaten up throughout the series. Against the Oilers I can see Myers taking stupid penalties and this Oilers PP is lethal. It has been a joy to watch their puck movement all year. This could go very badly for the Canucks if they don't get things going but I'm super curious to see what they look like against a team that isn't trying to suffocate them.

For anyone watching the Bruins / Leafs tonight - the game is on ABC so you can avoid the Sportsnet crew.

I'm not really sure what to expect from Boston today. They say the right things but it's not translating on the ice. I was trying to recall the last time Montreal was in this position - having a 3-1 lead, blowing it and having to play a game 7. I think it was the 2008 playoffs & it was against the Bruins.
They shutout Boston in game four 1-0 ( I think Brisebois scored the winner) & things looked good, to me anyway. But they played a couple of subpar games and lost the next two by a combined score of 10-5. I remember being super stressed about this and expecting the worst. However they got their act together and won the game 5-0.
I'm hoping the Bruins do something similar but I wonder if they are going to play that passive game that did them in for games 5 and 6.

Whichever team loses, we win.
Yes, I'm a mean old fart and enjoy watching my enemies squirm like worms and cry like children.

I don't care who loses. This is difficult to watch and will be happy once they're both golfing.

Boston looks like total trash. They have two bozos at 1C and 2C who not only do not drive play, they do not even win faceoffs. This is not absolve the Bruins' stars (Pastrnak, Marchand, McAvoy) because frankly all look rather pedestrian given the stakes tonight.

The Bruins talk a good game about how they are ready bla bla bla but just gag when it comes time to do something,
Prediction - Panthers will sweep whoever wins this.

Typical of the Bruins - Carlo had the puck & just falls on his face. Matthews to Nylander for the lead.
