Great shot, great set up. It was a rather unspectacular, but correct pass

Why is Slafkovsky passing to Caulfield on that opportunity?

Montembault on his knees before the shot. Goes in over his shoulder.

Shortly after the morons start the ole song, Ottawa scores. All my non-Hab friends think the Ole song is the same as "hey hey goodbye" , a victory song so to speak It is not, the Ole song is a rally song

Second pp unit does it again. Lane should get another assist. They took this assist away

Hutson finally take a shot, but it's blocked. Good play by Montembeault to come out and bail out Lane

It was a rather unspectacular, but correct pass Did you watch the build up to that? C’mon Skilly, I’ve eased off. Relax. Lighten up. I did. It was great build up ...but nothing to make that pass "great" Listen you have a clear bias. It's ok. I will not comment on it anymore for the rest of the season Everything Lane does (who I like a lot) is great, he laced up his skates spectacularly this morning at the pre game skate. Everything Matheson does is meh, the bum couldn't even color coordinate skates laces. They are white man, white!! How do you screw that up!!??

Good oversll effort. Both Matheson and Anderson were good. As was Gallagher.
Hutson was impressive. Should have had 2 assists, but maintaines his ppg pace. Caufield has bumped his pace too. 🤣.
The most gratifying part of this game is that Ottawa played well. They’re a good team with good goaltending and we beat them. Our goalie outplayed their goalie but we did a good job of capitalizing on our chances.
Good game.

The boys delivered a great Saturday night win. Montembeault was dialed in. The team defense was suspect at times, but in general it got better as the game progressed.
Hutson is special. Guys just chase him and flail, while he is seeing the ice in a way that so few players in the league can. Comments on other Habs blue liners: Xhekaj kept it simple, which is good; Barron was much better than on Thursday night, as was Matheson; Guhle and Savard just know the game and block everything.
I am very pleased with the Habs' special teams after three games. St. Louis is not starving the second PP. They are getting close to half the time and proving they deserve it. The penalty kill is getting the job done.
Suzuki and Dach are not lighting it up, but the team needs to stay the course and trust that they can get it going.
Ottawa may have to cancel the parade the had planned after their first game of the season. And they may have to hedge their bets on Ullmark winning the Vezina...

Solid game! Pretty well everyone played well. Monty looks a lot like Carey; not only in stats but style as well. There! I said it!
Hutson continues to impress. So much so that although i've been screaming for well over a year now that our first PP unit should play the first 90 seconds of the PP, i'm actually keen to get the first unit off so I can watch the magician perform hi tricks. But i got a great compromise: GET LANE ON THE FIRST PP!!! It's only a matter of time. Oh! And it was great to see Lane dodge Tchuck to make Newhook's goal happen.
Not impressed with Josh's penalty at the end. Needless and not thinking of the team.

This team just needs to stay healthy. Once they have more games under their belt as a unit, the better they will get.
I read somewhwre that this is the youngest team in the NHL. I am not sure if that is true, but I am willing to give everyone from coaches to the players the time they need to develop and get more game experience. So guys, sit back and enjoy the season and enjoy the good, the bad and hopefully not too many ugly games.

Anderson played a good game, but he should know that Zub is not going to engage and drop the gloves. The Russian is a hard nosed d-man but it is not in his DNA to answer the bell and fight.

Notes to myself...
1st
Good pk kill. They use the 1-2-1 into a box very well.
Guhle is a stud
Pp...broken play goal, who cares, it's a goal
Hens fiesty but won't dare drop them
PP...like i said repeatedly, Hutson is playing far too high to be a danger. He's just a relay man. He should be on the RF
CC...from his office
High energy, faaaar better then the Booins game
2nd
X...got to think and read faster.
Monty the Wall...who is this guy?
Dach...is not the monster I expected. He's average
3rd
Hutson from the right circle finds Newhook. THAT is why I want him on the right circle.
Guhle...a rare mistake against Stutz. Diving is not a smart move from all the way out there.
That was a full value win. First time we outplayed our opponent for the entire game. Still waiting for Dach to catch fire.
Monty first star.
CC 2nd star
Guhle 3rd star
