If Marty can control the playing time of any player without a good reason, then can a player also feign an injury and not play in a game that he's needed?
Rempe is a no talent goon whose only job is to hit and hurt. There are also a pile of other dirty players on the Rags. What if all of a sudden X says he has a "shoulder pain"?
Oh wait, we need him Tuesday but not against the soft islanders.
How does X see himself then? As a well paid goon or a player who has to work hard to become a top 4?
There is no way that X is not wondering about his long term future as a top 4.
BTW..I thought Marty was a players coach and really good at developing players?

If X and Pezz are not in then MSL is hopeless

I cant remember Price's injury history before the Kreider " accidentally on purpose " hit but I do think this was the beginning of his injury woes.
I was quite happy when NY lost the Finals that year & I continue to hold a grudge.

I want X to take Kreiders head off

Kreider is not really a guy who mixes it up all that much physically and he certainly would not fight Xhekaj.
However, going by the message (at least implicitly) sent by St. Louis, I am not so sure Xhekaj will be in the lineup and I am almost certain Pezzetta will not.
I think another issue that needs to be addressed is Hutson's minutes. He is averaging 23:13 per game. For me this is simply too much. As reference points, Fox averaged 18:54 as rookie, Makar 21:01, and Hughes 21:53.
Is the second line going to get 10+ games before Hughes and St. Louis decide on which piece or pieces to shift around?

If X is not playing and Rempe hurts a Hab, I would fire MSL on the spot.
That's willful negligence on MSL and a firing offence. On the same level for me as ignoring a massive safety issue and resulting accident.

I agree 100%... if your deterrent is not on the bench and a goon hurts one of your players then it's on the coach... plain and simple... what if Rempe goes after Hutson

BTW...a bit of insight of a owner firing people...
Remember Gillete who owned the Habs? The Habs got mauled by i think it was the Avs and Gillete walked into the dressing room and fired MThead. Andre Savard tried to save MThead and that's when he wrote his own death warrant. Savard fired MThead about a week later. Gillette then hired Gainey who replaced Savard that summer.
This is what a hard core owner does.
Some of our HabsRus old timers know why I know this...

I saw the Rempel/Reeves fight Saturday. Surprised Reeves was able to hold his own. Rempel's biggest asset is his reach. But I'm not sure he's all that strong. I like X's chances. Now, will Marty give him a chance?

I cant remember Price's injury history before the Kreider " accidentally on purpose " hit but I do think this was the beginning of his injury woes. I was quite happy when NY lost the Finals that year & I continue to hold a grudge. This was the start of his injury woes Carey Price on IRHe played the Olympics injured. He injured it in practice with Team Canada before the Olympics started. Played in the Olympics. But then decided he was too hurt to play through it for the team that actually pays him. He missed 8 games. Returned and played well until Kreider crashed into him. Always made me wonder if he was honest about that “LBI” would MTL have let him play, did the strain of games on that LBI make it worse (obviously yes because he took time off), if he did not play in those Olympics would the the LBI been stronger, did he come back too early, and of course was he taking something in those Olympics and in those playoffs to manage any pain. Inquiring Skilly still wants to know ********* EDIT In this article Sidney Crosby divulges Price played through the Olympics with the injury and implies it was something he was battling prior to the Olympics Crosby on Price injurySince 2014 I’ve stated numerous times CP31 put himself before the Montreal Canadiens. He wasn’t going to be left of that Olympic team.

Habsorbed, I think you must have seen the Blue and White cheerleaders on Sportsnet during the intermission showing fight clips from last season. I did not see any of the Toronto game, but my brother in law told me that Rempe and Reaves basically never even looked at each other Saturday night.

Just checked the box score from Saturday's Leafs/Rags tilt and neither Reeves nor Rempe had any penalty minutes. So the fight must have been from last year. Same observation though: Rempe's got a long reach but hopefully can't match X's strength, or feistiness.

The Habs lineup looks rather anemic and it appears Shesterkin is in net.
I know St. Louis probably sees Armia on the second line balancing things out defensively. But I would rather see Heineman up there. And while I am not pro-Dvorak whatsoever, I would concede that he has more offensive skill than Evans, plus he's a left handed stick, which would fit better with Anderson and Gallagher. Evans should be on the fourth line with Pezzetta and Armia.

What have we become. We are celebrating 45 yrs since our last dynasty, now?? . Why 45 years? It wasn't that long ago this board was poking fun at Toronto for pulling stunts like this. Wait the 5 years for 50 years, or if you are really desperate wait 2 years for the 50 anniversary of the 1976 Cup. We will be doing this all again in 5 years. And the ceremony? That was not up to the standards of this franchise. Parade them out and have two speeches and done ... very bland to me.

Kapanen and Newhook with a bit of chemistry. A little bit more finish (not the Armia type) and they'd have got one

Habs defense expected an icing call, it wasn't called and it's 2-0 Rangers
That's the second time this week that MTL defense heard an icing call that was waved off by the other ref at the last second that resulted in a goal. This team needs to learn to skate right to the whistle

It's going to be a very long year. A lot of mistakes. If they learn from them, then I can live with it. But I don't see any learning yet. Same mistakes every game so far, and how the youngest team in the league can be the slowest team in the league is beyond me

Well, if St. Louis hands Hutson 27-28 minutes tonight, he could finish -6 or -7.
This team is hard to watch.
