Montembeault, getting the lion's share of the starts, will be in net. The d-pairs are the same. Candotta is the fourth line center. Barron and Pezzetta are scratched.
I do not see Evan's offensive style and skill set being particularly conducive to Slafkovsky and perhaps not even to Newhook. But I guess the coach is so worried about Dach that he just cannot yet pull the trigger on his return to the 2C job.

Interesting stats. I didn't realize just how useless Newhook had been. 2 points on the season? Dach with a measly 5 points? Wow.
That's less than the guys we love to beat on. Less than Gallagher, Armia and Evans. Nowhere near good enough

That was some strange matador defense by Newhook. And Guhle probably should have stayed on Bratt who was parked on the doorstep. I get it that Hughes is a magician, but that looked awful nevertheless.

Seems our hopes for the rebuild are misplaced. Dach and Newhook are not the scorers we hoped for. Will be interesting to see if Laine and Demidov changes anything or just more misplaced hopes

Guhle got his pocket picked, but either his d-partner (Matheson) or the center (Dvorak) should have been keeping the lower slot locked down and yet no one was there.

For sure, Skilly. It is extremely disappointing on a team level. The players are lazy/passive and clueless, but management cannot easily move on from them. So that will put the coaches in the crosshairs.

A goal scorer (not Jake Evans) would have cut in front of Hamilton instead of trying to put the puck on the short side with almost no room.
