OK, guys, this is how we will do it:
For our junior prospects
Each weekend, I will post their stats. Since we have so many kids in junior and we don't care about the rest of their team, I won't post their boxscores.
We will be following these following kids:
Olivier Michaud, Shawinigan
Duncan Milroy, Kootenay
Eric Himelfarb, Barrie
Andrew Archer, Guelph
Tomas Linhart, Missausaga
Micheal Lambert, Montreal
André Deveaux, Belleville
Jonathan Ferland, Acadie-Bathurst
For our prospects in Hamilton
Once their season starts I will post the link to the AHL scoreboard and I will post each boxscore of their games. Each weekend, I will update their stats as well
For our prospects in Europe
Players like Perezhogin, Korneev, Tarasov, etc I will try to find a site that updates their stats or I will use Hockeys future's updates
For Chris Higgins at Yale
I'll try to find Yale's website and I'll update his stats after each game

I was at the game Sunday afternoon, (Rocket vs Rouyn-Noranda). Montreal lost 2-1. Once again M. Lambert was largely invisible. He only got off 1 quality shot which the goalie made an impressive kick save. Otherwise, another disappointing effort overall. At least he wasn't a 1/2 round pick. Well the year is still young. I will be keeping an eye on him.

A funny thing happened on the way to the farm
The pre-season hasn't only shown us a sneak preview of the Habs' bright future, it's also given us a chance to wax nostalgic on a rabid rivalry from the glorious past.
(posted Oct. 1, 1:58PM EDT) I bought a street map for the City of Hamilton this summer. With Montreal's AHL farm team moving to Steeltown I figured I'd be making a few trips to the Golden Horseshoe this season. I even did a dry run, making sure I could navigate the mess of one-way streets that lead to Copps Coliseum. At one point I accidentally ended up on the "mountain" but managed to find my way back down to the centre of town. OskeeWeeWee!
The Canadiens have a great crop of youngsters in the fold and I've been looking forward to seeing them suit up for the Hamilton Bulldogs, a farm team they share with the Edmonton Oilers. Ron Hainsey, Marcel Hossa, Mike Komisarek and Jozef Balej: all bright stars on the Montreal horizon, and worth the trip to Hamilton to boot! Throw in Mathieu Garon and an occasional visit from Mike Ribeiro and the Bulldogs could be the AHL Champs.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the Coliseum. The farm-bound kids have impressed beyond all expectations in training camp. Hainsey, Montreal's 1st-round pick in 2000, is here to stay. And not just because blue liner Sheldon Souray is out for the beginning of the season, either. The Connecticut kid has been paired with Stephane Quintal through most of the exhibition play and he's become Mr. Everything. Hainsey is Montreal's leading scorer in the pre-season, and remember, folks, he's a defenceman. He's been steady on the powerplay and his offensive prowess is giving fans and management something they haven't seen since Eric Desjardins wore the tricolour.
Ribeiro was having a great exhibition series until some unforgiving boards in Ottawa's Corel Centre put him in shoulder rehab for the next 4-6 weeks. He's been fighting for a permanent forward spot along with last year's darling rookie Marcel Hossa and the unknown Jozef Balej, a third-round choice in 2000. All of them have turned heads in Montreal's 6-0 pre-season run, especially Coach Michel Therrien's. He, in particular, sees the possibility of dressing 4 lines that can score.
Of course the kids have their work cut out for them. Saku Koivu is healthy and as nimble as ever. So is Donald Audette. The Canadiens added Mariusz Czerkawski and Randy McKay to the roster in the off-season. Richard Zednik is signed and ready to earn his raise. And of course Doug Gilmour is back. It's a tough time to break into the Montreal lineup, yet the young'uns are making it a contest for the veterans.
Montreal has depth. For the first time in a decade or so. So when the inevitable aches, pains and injuries hit the Montreal A-Team, the B-Team on the farm is more than able to jump in. Never mind that Balej has already been sent down, or that Komisarek will probably be among the last cuts. You will be hearing from them again this year, and you won't have to pick up the Hamilton Spectator to do so.
Another roadside attraction If the future lies in the west -- well, southwestern Ontario, anyway -- the east holds the glorious past. The Canadiens made the road trip up the highway to Quebec City last weekend and played home team to the visiting Colorado Avalanche. On a night when most of Canada was reminiscing about the 30th anniversary of "the goal" in the Summit Series, La Belle Province was focused on Le Colisee, the home of the Quebec Nordiques. The prodigal sons came home for the first time since 1995, when the team pulled up stakes and headed to the thin air of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
In the pre-game skate, Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg and Adam Foote wore the bright blue sweaters of Les 'Diques. It was enough to bring a tear to the most rabid Montreal fan's eyes. Oh yes, we hated our provincial rivals; the blood pressure would rise every year when it looked like the Habs would have to go through Quebec to move onto the next playoff round. It was never easy. But it was hockey
It's funny, isn't it? When your enemy is gone you miss them. The Nordiques would raise their game whenever Montreal was in town. And the Habs played Quebec like every period was overtime in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. Man, those were heroic times! There were brawls, there were beautiful goals, and there was Peter Stastny and Guy Lafleur.
Now the teams are in different divisions, different conferences, different countries. What a shame. Saturday night's game felt like the real thing, not an exhibition game. It was the past, Patrick Roy, against the present and future, Jose Theodore. It was the way it used to be, the way it should be. It was hockey.
