Larrivee's play has got to be considered a little disappointing, even if he is on a weaker team. Isn't he an overager? A point-per-game is nothing to get excited about in the Q, especially for a player not noted for being anything other than a scorer. Didn't Savard sign him to a 3 year deal in the off season?
Milroy also hasn't really lit it up at all. At the beginning of the year, he was saying he wanted to finish atop the WHL scoring race, but here he is a good 20 points off the pace, sitting around 15th. Ouch.
Ferland on the other hand, has come out of nowhere, and its nice to see Michaud picking it up a little bit. If we take some goaltending hits in the coming off-season (Hackett and Garon), Michaud might be sorely needed...

Verry disapointing...that guy should be in the top 10 scoring in the Q...no hearth...a little baby...he should had accept to go in the EACL instead of going back in the Q as a 20 years old...just like Chouinard in Utah send him out far from his familly to learn life on his own

If we take some goaltending hits in the coming off-season (Hackett and Garon), Michaud might be sorely needed... Well there's different ways to look at it. On the plus side, Larrivee is 2nd on his team in +/- (+10) which is what he was told to work on. But without his linemate P-M-Bouchard, his point totals are way down. Then again, he's got a contract, and his team wont make the playoffs most likely, so he doesn't have anything to prove. I still think it was a mistake on his part and Savard's for letting him play in the Q. He should be in the ECHL, where he would be playing in a much more phyiscal environment. Milroy, had the same trouble last year at this time. He got suspened for drinking, then after that he went on a tear. This year he gets suspened for drinking, but hasn't gone on the tear yet. But this isn't the same team he was on last year. There's not as many weapons, so teams can focus on Milroy more. Still he has to step it up, as he is playing for a contract. Ferland is on fire, and has been very good all season so far. He plays a physical game, is good in his own end, puts up the points as well. He leads the Q in +/-, SH, and is near the top in goals, and points. Michaud has struggled this year plain and simple. I think he will be in the AHL next year, and hopefully he turns it around with his new team. My hopes are on Joni Puurula, as he may come over soon the later, as he has a young bruins prospect playing under that has been very good lately and may have taken over the starting job, if so maybe he considers coming over to North America next year or the year after. ( His miltary runs till december, so I don't think he can come over until thats finished)

Didn't Larrivee decide to come back home and play for Chicoutimi? seems to me I remember him deciding to not go to the ECHL.

His agent advised him to play in the ECHL, but he didn't listen. I know someone who plays hockey with Larrivee. I remember him saying that Christian didn't think the Habs were going to offer him a contract, as it went down to the wire.

I don't know if it interest you but,
I often listen chicoutimi's games on the radio and Christian Larrivée changed his game a lot over a year span.
Last year he was a non-physical sniper with playmaking qualities, he looked a lot like Eric Chouinard
But this year, he may not rack a ton of points as a 20 y/o but he became very physical, he don't fight but he hit a lot
in 28 games, he got 10g and 21ps for 31 pts and lately (last 5 games or so) his coach told him to shoot more and it works.
Habs prospects who combine checking and point producing are a rare commodity.
A 6'3" lefwinger who hit and produce...(drool)
He still have a long way to go but its quite pleasing to see a prospect who improve by leaps and bounds ;D

I see that Alexander Buturlin seems to be doing better this year (5 goals, plus 12). Does anyone konw whether his skating has improved significantly? That was supposed to be the big obstacle to him getting to the NHL.

That was supposed to be the big obstacle to him getting to the NHL. Yes he is having a much better year then last season, but he does have very good linemates playing on the top line for Lada. From what I have read, Buturlin's line has been playing very good hockey lately, but I don't know if his skating has improved. I personally don't hold much hope for Buturlin. When he left the OHL, I wonder if he left his NHL hopes behind as well. He's still young, but with the depth of prospects in Habland, I wonder if he will ever get a shot here.

Sounds like Zhogs is doing well....
Read this, from Hockey's Future:
Avangard Omsk vs. Sibir Novosibirsk 5:4 OT
January 20th, 2003, Omsk
Goals: Chermakl- 10 (Petrenko), 5:48 (0:1). Perezhogin - 8 (Nikitin), 11:27 (1:1). Chernov - 6 (Nikitin, Patera), 21:32 (2:1 -pp.). Nabokov - 9 (Koreshkov, Brondstad), 28:37 (2:2 - sh.). Golovin- 3 (Popov), 31:03 (2:3). Sushinsky- 5 (Zatonsk, Saifullin), 49:31 (3:3 - pp.). Mikhnov - 4 (Golovin, Ternavsky), 51:55 (3:4). Sushinsky - 6 (Saifullin, Zatonsky), 53:52 (4:4). Perezhogin - 9 (Prokopiev), 60:21 (5:4).
Prospect Notes: Calgary Flames prospect Andrei Taratukhin and Washington’s prospect Artem Ternavsky got into a scuffle early on, but no penalties were called. Montreal Canadiens prospect Alexander Perezhogin scored the first goal by going all two zones through all five Sibir players on the blocker side. He scored his second one in overtime, winning the game with a nice shot to the top shelf

Also from russianprospects.com - Report of the Jan. 23 Avangard - CSKA game: To me, this is good and bad news at the same time: it's nice to see he can deke 4-5 players to get a scoring chance, but shouldn't he be looking to pass a bit more? Dunno, maybe those two games are just a coincidence, but could this explain his low assist total and his 3rd (rather than 1st or 2nd) line role? Now that I think about it, he did have the same tendency to try to deke out evreybody rather than make a play in the gold medal game vs Canada at the WJC, the only Russia game I saw. Anybody see it differently?

welcome aboard Sebi.
I have not seen enough Alex to see if that is really a tendency of his...but if it is...it's very similar to Martin Havlat in his rookie season and last year...if he can become just as good we are in business ;D

Duncan Milroy has had a difficult year, to understate things. My Cranbrook buddy reports a change in the last week. His work ethic has increased a lot and he was the first star in one game last weekend. Tonight, against the giants, he has 2 goals, 2 assists so far after 2 periods. He needs to develop the thinking that his results are directly related to the effort he puts out. He has skill and smarts...and he can be a good NHL'er with the requesite effort.
