FWIW our GM is going to be in Chicago for his Mother in-laws funeral tomorrow. Read that earlier. Condolences. That said, if it's a distraction he should had the day and the plans off to Carriere and Dudley.

...apparently a deal for Mike Weaver is close... Cause we don't have enough sub 6' defenders?

Some guy named Harvey Fialkov, who covers the Panthers, tweeted that it looks like Weaver is going to Montreal. Harvey Fialkov @hfialkov 6m

Bob McKenzie @tsnbobmckenzie 1m FLA players saying their goodbyes to Mike Weaver, who apparently has been traded to MTL. 5'10, 180lbs, 35 years old, won't provide offense. No one saying what's going the other way yet. Clearly just a depth move, but is he any better than Cube?

Why bother? It's like last year all over again. Like Drewiske he'll prbably be on waivers in a year.
Instead of getting bigger/stronger they talk of re-signing Gionta & trade for a smallish D man. Is there an emoticon for facepalm?
If Begevin wants to build through the draft why does he waste these late round picks on guys they will not use?

Pending trade calls, looks like Ducks have made a couple of moves - one of which was to acquire Robidas from Dallas.

With Luongo dealt, and Kesler being floated about, Bieksa and Edler are also on the list of available Canucks now. Big potential changes afoot.

This isn't a rumour, more a laugh. How about asking if the Flames want Bourque back for the expiring Cammalleri contract. lol

Might be a couple of teams kicking the tires of Rene Bourque. Adrian Dater out of Denver and Andy Strickland both referencing him. Avs are one of the teams supposedly sniffing around.

I'm out of glue. Dater claims that Roy likes the way Rene skates and goes to the net. IMO, Bourque does make sense to a cap floor team. That isn't the Avs. Hell though, look at what Clowe got last year and his numbers were no better.

I would actually be okay with keeping Bourque. Granted, I'll take a mid-round pick for him, but if our options are keeping Bourque or taking on somebody else's problem child I'd just as soon keep Bourque. Better the slacker you know. As an aside, I'm beginning to believe that Bourque isn't really so lazy, he's just, as seventeen always alludes to, dumb. He's a dumb hockey player. Maybe not a dumb person, but he seems to have zero hockey sense and does not process the game. Never mind processing the game slowly, I just don't see him processing it at all. Maybe I'll elaborate on that some day. Or maybe not. It's just Rene Bourque after all.

IQ is definitely an issue, but Bourque hasn't been as good since the concussion. When he was at his scoring best he wasn't always playing with Iggy (if at all). If the light was ever on, it's off now.

Tuomo will never bring the offense that was promised early in his career, but he at least competes and plays with edge. He's got the same term left, but is more expensive. Cap hit is $4.75 million for the next two years. Second liner, maybe third depending on chemistry.

Listening to TSN1200 -- Chris Stevenson talking that the Habs don't like the way Tinordi has progressed and he may [but not likely] be included in a trade to Vancouver.
Don't like the way Tinordi has progressed?? I could suggest that there are many on the team that have not progressed properly.
I don't know . . . perhaps that's due to the way they have been utilized/poorly used?

Cammalleri? no] I will be pretty close to walking away from this team if they deal Tinordi because MT and Lefebvre don't know how to teach him. That is on MB and him alone. He hired MT and MB was a scout for 3 years with the Hawks... he can evaluate talent and has to be able to see that Tinordi has it... He has what this team has needed for a long time.
