In case the two Q reps in the Memorial Cup have not seen enough of each other lately, they get to do it one more time to see who advances against Kelowna in tomorrow night's semi. After a long, hard fought seven game President's Cup final against each other, in which the last two games went to extra time, Rimouski and Quebec get to battle it out one more time tonight in the tie breaker since they both finished with 1-2 records. Rimouski topped the rather lackluster Remparts last night 4-0, as even Fucale could do nothing to help his anemic team (he can't score goals either).
7:30pm Eastern, usual bat channels.

Last laugh to the home team, 5-2 tonight. What does Fucale and mates do after their dud last night? Just win baby.
They get Kelowna tomorrow in the semi.
Two prospects still alive heading into the playoffs!! Fucale hoping his junior career has two more games left, while McC has just one.

That will be 3 games in 3 nights for Quebec, while Kelowna has beebn resting. Pretty tough to win unless Fucale is lights out.

He wasn't the reason they gave up nine. He made a number of fantastic saves. They were simply outclassed everywhere else.

Yeah read a article on sportsnet how fucale's stock is took a hit cause this cup run but the whole team has been a huge letdown..... Case of Toronto media dumping on a habs prospect??? He was the greatest 4 or 5 months ago is the wjc
Maybe the article was spot on as its really hard to predict a QMJHL goalie as its not the best league matching up to the rest of the CHL..... Should be interesting Next season as he battles condon for the starting spot in St.johns

Counting this year, the Q has won the Memorial Cup 3 of the last 5 years. Maybe not so weak?

His regular season wasn't great, but when he got back in during the playoffs his play was great. He gave his team a shot every night, and despite not making the final imo he's the best goalie at the tournament. He made a lot of big saves. His only crime was being let down by the weakest team there.

Let's note now, that McCarron is a centre and see where he plays in St. John's or Montreal

I see him solidifying the bottom end of our top 6, probably within a year. I'm not sure where he'll end up position wise. Perhaps 2nd line RW or 3rd line centre? And who knows? Maybe there's more to big Mike and he improves further. He showed really good discipline in the Mem Cup several times.

Good to see McCarron named an all star but how does the tournament MVP and leading scorer (Leon Draisaitl) not get selected?

I suspect that it's probably because, in the games that really mattered (KElowna vs Oshawa) Draisaitl had no points. It also depends on who's picking. I thought Josh Morrisey was easily one of the better, if not the best defenseman in the tournament and he didn't make the all-star team either.

I thought he was consistently better than Bowey for the whole tournament. Bowey had some OMG moments, especially early on.

One kid who I liked is Devante Stephens, dman on the Rockets. He's available this year and probably won't be picked until later in the draft. TV just doesn't allow one to see the whole picture, but he seemed responsible and made a couple of rushes that I liked.

Dumont wore the "C" in Hamilton last year, so good to see some of that leadership kept over for another season. He definitely slipped on the overall forward depth chart though last season. There were rumours of him jumping ship to Europe. I guess not quite yet. Ellis really struggled in the first half of the season, but really turned his season around after being sent to the ECHL (and getting a lot more ice time and responsibility). One of the Habs' other past Memorial Cup winners (he and Bournival were teammates when they won together in Shawinigan in 2012).

Good face off guy... Gritty ..leadership... Decent 4th line guy IMO...... At this point just a Veteran AHLer Eliis had a tough first few months... Hidden gem??? Maybe.... I was really high on him coming in last season...Was one of the better defence men for the Dogs season before...... I think he should have a spot in the AHL....hope Thrower can get his game together just like Ellis has

A couple of years ago, Dumont seemed to have one of the 13th or 14th forward spots his to lose, but had a bad camp (or at least not as good a camp as others did). He never really recovered, although his year in Hamilton was very good this past year in that he had career offensive numbers and provided that much needed leadership. Boucher was a big fan of his, as he coached him in juniors in the year before Boucher moved to Hamilton. The current coaches must also like what he brings to have awarded him the "C". Given some of the other forwards coming in now that likely will be jumping past him on the depth chart, he may have reached his ceiling in this organization.
