IceCaps beat a tough Hershey Bears team behind great goaltending from Pasquale. Friberg and Holloway with nice goals in the 2-1 win. A good bounce back after doing you-know-what in the bed against Bingo in their last game. The boys are wearing green and white special jerseys tonight. A shamrock special. m.youtube.com/watch?v=8gBPkRdAzHQ&feature=youtu.be

Tough 3-2 loss this afternoon. Pasquale came in on a four game winning streak and was great again, but a late goal from a good Hershey team was the difference. Dumont and Great Scott with the goals. They are now heading out on a six game road trip. m.youtube.com/watch?v=DzR_iFo1G0k

Big road win for the Baby Baby Habs as they start their 7 game road trip in Utica, against a team they are chasing. Gregoire and Friberg with the goals, the latter being the GWG in OT. Fucale with the second star with 30 saves.
No rest as they head to Syracuse for games tomorrow and Sunday...the always tough three in three on the road.

I remember enjoying posting stuff about our farm team. Lefebvre has managed to drum that out of me, too. What a total loser he is. I'd be very surprised if he isn't driving a truck after he's finally let go by the Habs (that could be years down the road). He'll never work for another hockey organization though. I hope he has his Class 1.

IceCaps lose their third in a row in dramatic, and total collapsing fashion.
Ellis puts the up 5-1 early in the third, only to lose 6-5 in regulation. The GWG was with four seconds left.
Pasquale in net. Hudon with two goals.

The "system"…..wow.
Why wasn't Pasquale pulled after it was 5-3 or 5-4?
You have to pull out all the tricks to change momentum.
I know, I know….the IceCaps are weakened by all the call-ups…
Whatever...you have to be able to hold on to a 4-goal lead in the third period. I read that the 5 goals were scored in the final 11-12 minutes.
Is that an AHL record for comebacks in a period?
The Amerks head coach? Randy Cunneyworth.

Pasquale in net. Hudon with two goals. That's the second time this year they blew a 4 goal lead in the third period. I witnessed the last time live and it was brutal to just watch them crumble

Yeah. Sometimes there's nothing you can do about it, but certainly there are some tactics one can try. Switching goalies is one, as CH suggested. Calling a time out is another. Getting your team to slow the game down and create as many whistles as possible for a time. You have to break the momentum, but that requires some smarts and some thinking on your feet. Mr Lefebvre does not seem capable of either.

I'd love for the Habs to call him up for 1 home game. He really hates Coyotes management John Scott on The Rock

The second assist in particular is greasy. Had everyone thinking he was gonna shoot, and threw it across the slot for a perfect one-timer. We've got a couple of guys who can one-time quite well ...

The guy who one-timed both of Scherbak's passes was none other than Charles Hudon, who now has 5 goals in his last three games. MT would rather play Matteau and DLR with the big club though. He is still only 21, so I expect he will get his shot eventually. Guess he needs to get some more grind in his game!

I remember reading some time ago when Berg was being interviewed, that if they needed a call-up, the process was to phone Lefebvre and ask him who was playing well. Obviously, that's a huge mistake. I don't know if they still do that (a continuing huge mistake), but if they do, it might explain why it took so long for McCarron to make his way up and for Hudon to get short shrift. I don't think Lefebvre would recgonize his own butt in a mirror, much less a guy who's playing well.

Went to the Ice Cap game last night which was a 4-0 loss to the Leigh Valley Phantoms (Philly's farm team)
The Caps out shot them 31-20 but I'm sure the Phantom goalie didn't break a sweat. Dalton and Thrower didn't play which was disappointing especially with Thrower being in the warm up. Scrivens let in 3 goals on the first 6 shouts but then went on to stop 8 in a row before giving up the next one
Best part of the game was Scott played a regular shift on defense including the PK and really didn't look bad out there. He had a couple of decent point shots. He played a very simple game and is a much better skater than Hal Gill who made a pretty good living being a redwood tree on the blue line.

Glad you made it to the game ... one thing I wanted to ask you and Skilly is, how much have the IceCaps caught on in St John's ... can either of you see the team staying there for a while ... ref John Scott; he may be a lot of things but he does have leadership ... the Scrivens demotion and the Lernout call up bring the number of players who wore both the St John's and Montreal jerseys to 18 ...

Reports are Hudon may be done for the year with a concussion I watched that game on tv Friday night. It was a dirty hit from behind by Aaron Palushaj (yes, the same guy). Hudon turned towards the boards and reached for a loose puck, he tangled up a bit with his check, and Palushaj just ran him from behind towards the boards. Needed help getting off the ice and going down the hallway. The classic part was no penalty, not even a minor.

Well, that is the league where they 'train' NHL refs so makes perfect sense.

Dis, I always thought St. John's was 50% TML and 50% Habs. The Baby Leafs were a sensation here. The Baby Habs not so much. Whether it's the product on the ice, or the organization, or the realization that Montreal is moving to Laval regardless , I don't know, but there sure are a lot of empty seats. I had heard months ago that Danny Williams was actively searching eastern seaboard teams (the one that keeps popping up is Bridgeport) to move here more long term. But I haven't heard anything in months, and I wouldn't be surprised if Williams has decided that AHL won't work in this town unless it's TML.

With the playoffs over for most of our CHL prospects, two have joined the IceCaps for the last few games. Daniel Audette and Jeremiah Addison get their small taste of AHL hockey to extend their season by a few games.
