There will no doubt be members of our board keeping tabs on P.K. this year (at the very least).
Please try and keep it all here.
Thanks!

Will do... I haven't watched a game yet... will be weird watching a game knowing 76 is no longer going to be on the ice.

thanks, CH. I have stopped replying in many threads because they seemed to turn into PK-fests. I understand it, but hopefully now that the season has near-begun the Habs discussion will revolve around Habs.
and I will do my best -- really -- not to turn all threads into anti-MT-fests. really. I'll try. I'll try hard . . .

I won't try hard. I'll be on that guy's butt for every poor decision. I have no respect for him and he has nothing on me so I can be blunt. I'll be fair because I need to be but I'll also be vigilant. Sure hope Muller takes over before too long.

I wonder, if the media establishment wasn't so concerned with maintaining working relationships around the league, what they might actually say about the trade. In all but a very few cases these days, the likes of McKenzie are non-committal about everything. It would seem that a fear to offend, a fear to take a side, so as not to lose a relationship or source has replaced old fashioned journalism and reporting. Red Fisher wouldn't have held back, because he knew he wasn't a member of the club. These guys appear to take the 'insider' role way to literally.

I like how McKenzie et al come across as very unbiased. You never get their opinion, you get the facts. They might show you a glimpse of their opinion, but it will be camouflaged within a fact. Something along the lines of "9 out of 10 GM's that I spoke to think the trade was awful". Sometimes I want McKenzie (or Friedman or whoever) to tell us a little more about what he really thinks, but he never really shows his cards. He's a real pro imo. So when I'm in the mood for a scathing, opinionated rant, I read Jack Todd.

In many cases, they may as well be employees of the league. I just get the feeling they're first names bases with way too many people that they shouldn't be; friends with people they should be reporting on.

Ha! Boston Pizza has hired Subban for a French language TV spot. At the end, he gives the delivery guy a SUBBAN Nashville jersey.
Even though he's gone, he's still selling in Montreal...using Predators' colours.
Nuts.

Now that some guy from the Predators is flogging their product that's even more reason for me to shun the place.

Finally, from one of the people involved, an honest comment on THE trade: Yep. That quote was from his first week in Nashville. TSN tried to pass it off as a quote from today and that it was poor form to make a comment like that on the day Weber plays his first game.

Just read that elsewhere. Thanks blny. My bad. Old news. No at all. I didn't bother to grab the tweet. It's hear for context. I tweeted my distaste to Gord Miller and Noodles last night. I doubt they give it a seconds thought, but hopefully the mindless masses that follow them catch it. Just another case of someone passing off something as fact to spin their story, disparage someone, and feed the drones.

Can't listen - I'm at work. But again, they caption makes it sound like he just said it yesterday. They discuss the quote mentioned in the game last night, but McKenzie clearly states that it's part of a larger conversation that took place over a few days during PK's first week in Nashville. Two points regarding the link: 1. People still discredit his defensive abilities. He's no more a gambler than Doughty or Burns or Karlsson. None of them are as routinely questioned at Subban. 2. This conversation with McKenzie took place during LEAFS LUNCH!

He has the reputation of a riverboat gambler so he always will be no matter how good his defensive numbers are. Some people will only see him falling down with a goal ensuing. Like Joni Mitchell says "you don't know what you got till its gone".

Tampa over Nashville 5-3 today. Tampa had a pretty good lineup, Nashville missing most of their good forwards. PK with an assist and + 2. It's preseason.

Montreal Canadiens fan takes out full page ad to express 'anger' over Subban trade
'You are an amazing and influential role model for my children,' letter writer tells star defenceman
CBC News Posted: Oct 13, 2016 8:17 AM ET| Last Updated: Oct 13, 2016 11:44 AM ET
A Habs fan took out a full-page ad in Thursdays Montreal Gazette (CBC)
A disgruntled Montreal Canadiens season ticket holder says they will only be attending one game this season — when the Habs take on P.K. Subban's new team.
In a full page newspaper ad, which costs roughly $20,000, the self-described "lifelong fan" said the trade that sent Subban to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber this summer has changed the way they feel about the team.
"Now, I feel anger, disappointment and embarrassment over the treatment of P.K. Subban by team management: the same sentiments that many felt after the Patrick Roy trade," reads the anonymous ad posted in Thursday's Montreal Gazette, signed by "Dr. CK and Family."
"You are an amazing and influential role model for my children and I am going to miss not having you as a Montreal Canadien."
The ad is a signal that, despite an optimism surrounding the Canadiens as they prepare to start the season tonight in Buffalo, some fans still haven't gotten over the decision to ship out the popular defenceman, who committed to raising $10 million for the Montreal Children's Hospital.
Because of the trade, the letter writer said they cannot support general manager Marc Bergevin and coach Michel Therrien, and that going to Habs games would be a vote of confidence in their leadership.
There's no mention of what will happen to the unused tickets.
Donald Beauchamp, a spokesperson for the team, told CBC News that "we have very passionate fans, and everyone is entitled to their opinion."
