I find a lot of times that the difference of a few minutes TOI between players is usually only an extra shift or two ... I'm hoping he's in the running for the Norris again ...
Cheers.

More PK trade rumours surfaced not long ago. Pierre Lebrun talked to David Poile about them and makes some suggestions why they rose. My opinion, which has never wavered, is that some people in Montreal (from where these rumours always seem to originate) either hate PK and want to keep perpetuating the myth that he's a problem child, or are such staunch Bergevin defenders that they feel the need to keep proving MB was right to trade him. In any case here is part of Lebrun's article from The Athletic relating to the trade rumours.
I was about to go on Finnish national television during an intermission of a Stanley Cup final game recently when my fine host asked me before we went to air if I’d address the P.K. Subban trade rumours.
To which I responded, what rumours? I certainly had nothing to offer on the subject. So, we chatted about other NHL topics.
But for whatever reason, those rumours have been out there, and the GM of the Nashville Predators doesn’t understand it either.
“You see tweets from different places, but, that’s not happening,’’ David Poile told The Athletic when asked about a potential Subban trade.
“Nobody has even called me about him,” added Poile. “P.K. played terrific this year. He played really well. He’s a really good player. He’s one of the three candidates for the Norris Trophy. I really don’t know where this comes from.’’
My guess is it emanates originally from the fact that the Preds inquired about Ottawa superstar Erik Karlsson before the trade deadline — and that part is accurate, they did inquire as I reported at the time — and people wondered who would have been involved in such a deal had it ever gone anywhere.
The Subban chatter might also be coming from the fact there’s work ahead for Poile in locking up two other key blueliners in Ryan Ellis (UFA a year from now) and Roman Josi (UFA in two years) and people wondering how Nashville can keep everyone under one roof and that Subban is the highest-paid of the bunch at $9 million per season.
But it appears Poile hopes to keep his top four together, if possible.
“I have my parameters of what I can pay so that’s part of the trick is to make it work for everybody,” said Poile. “If we do Ellis this year and then it would be Josi next year around the same time (one year out), those are the two big ones that we have going forward.’’

17, I don't doubt that the rumors are a stretch (there is a lot more being brought up, mostly a regurgitation of PK's personality), but it is the same there as it would be here, no? the GM denying suggestions of a trade and then making one because "it is the best thing long term for the team".
I don't see EK in Nashville (though have a good gander at my sig line): $12M long term v $9M shorter term? the money speaks.

It's hard to believe NHL's stats page sometimes. In most games, I see that PK has played either the most or 2nd most minutes of the Preds defenders. The guy who seems to split that time with him varies. Sometimes Josi has played a minute more and sometimes Ellis had played a minute more. Ekholm is the guy who plays the least of the 4, but the ice time between them usually isn't different by more than 4 minutes. It's hard to label PK as a second pairing dman, even on Nashville. I think Laviolette distributes ice time depending on if the Preds are leading or trailing. If one added up the ice time over the whole year on a per game basis, I'd put money on PK ending up first and Josi and Ellis very close together for 2nd. In any case, he's 4 points away from a career high, in probably fewer minutes than his 2014/15 season. Yes, Michel, that's the guy you screamed at all the time and threw under the bus. How's it feel to see him doing so well, in spite of you? The difference between 3/4 minutes TOI might just be an extra shift or two ... but, I also noticed that PK Subban was used in every and all situations including shutting down the opposition's top lines ... he wasn't the top point-getter among d-men, but I think both his TOI and his all-around skill sets probably had something to do with his Norris Trophy nomination ... Cheers.

Subban must be very glad to be gone now when he looks at the team.
They leave, maybe reluctantly. But they are out of the fishbowl & experience success. Just ask Eller or Smith-Pelly.

My wife and I just got back from Nashville on Friday ... I wore my Habs jacket pretty much the whole time I was there and I was wearing it outside the Bridgestone Arena when two jersey-wearing Predator's fans approached me ... "Why did y'all trade PK to us for? We loved Shea, but y'all got hosed on that one" ... I then find out that what PK does is pay for one underprivileged kid and a police officer to have supper and game tickets all on him ... I guess he does a lot for underprivileged kids in Nashville ...
Cheers.

A lot of kids in poor neighborhoods dont trust cops so PK brings them together at a game, they go into the dressing room, they get swag and a lot of the times the cops and kids stay in contact afterwards... it becomes like a Big Brother type thing... but PK was a cancer that needed to be removed from the Habs room.

Looks like the same guy that was at Brossard with the Fire Bergevin & Timmins sign.
What's his point? This is Subban's first really low point total. So what if Weber has 15 goals. They are missing the playoffs anyways.

How come his grammar is soooo much better in English or did the Habs PR department make the sign?
