I wasn’t sold on Andersen and he’s proving to be a liability for the Leafs. Two bad goals tonight. Amazing how bad a coac Babcock is when the goaltending is weak. He's a reincarnation of Palmateer. He makes the hard look easy and the easy look hard.

Pleks had a great game in a 2nd line checking capacity, as we all know is his strong point....getting lots of praise now......Leafs win.
Also played a nice decoy on Marleau's insurance goal.

Aye there's the rub. Pleks is great at shutting down the other team's top centre. He's annoyed Crosby plenty over the years. That poses an inherent problem sometimes in that because he is now such a poor scorer, you're giving up 18 minutes or so of potential scoring time. That's hard to overcome. If he was an ideal 3rd or 4th line shut down centre, at the appropriate salary, great. He's not a good 2nd line centre because of the poor scoring ability. Didn't used to be that way, but he's lost something in the last 3 years, offensively.

Lars gets credit for the OT winner on a play that will not make the highlight reels, but counts. Someone must have stuck a pun in that Bergevin voodoo doll.
Washington can breathe a bit.

The Cinderella story continues. Vegas with the sweep over LA, who looked older and slower. Anaheim and San Jose are also 2 of the older teams. Playing each other lucky for them.
Nice to see Gallant going to the second round.

Observations about Vegas? Lots of speed throughout the line-up. Their defence can skate and move the puck quickly, They don't have anyone you'd call elite and most have exceeded expectations, but they can all skate. Very similar to the Habs Very similar to the way the Habs used to be under Gainey

Man are the Flyers goalies brutal... if we wanted to trade Carey they would be a partner...
Edit: their defence is even worse... Gostbitiere trying to stick check Crosby and Crosby scores coming out from behind the net

Subban with a big hit....and Forsberg goes the other way to score another highlight reeler.
EDIT: PK with two bad giveaways leading to mayhem in the Preds' end. No damage done...but...
A very audible segment of Avs' fans boo him at every touch of the puck.

Except whenever we've faced them in the playoffs, that is. Leighton shut us out 3 times in 2010. Biron was enough to get the job done in 2008.

He will need another couple of years of development, probably.

A whole lot of Puddy or all you Seinfeld fans out there. Apparently the actor is a LA Kings fan (and therefore likely in mourning a bit!).

I know Subban's detractors like to latch on to moments like that but they should have a look at this article. www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/ranking-7-contenders-norris-trophy/A ranking of the Norris candidates. He's becoming a bit of a story....
Go to a better team...fill a smaller hole.

Just heard Cherry say he won "Coach of the Year". I had no idea.... This time he claimed his winning percentage was .650. He was using wins divided by total games. 1975-76. It was actually .600 (48W in 80 games). Impressive. So was Fred Shero's .637 (51W) ...and Scotty Bowman's .725. (58W)

I didn't see a very hungry Leafs' team tonight. Not what I'd have expected, that's for sure...
Maybe the extra day off negated any Game 3 momentum....

They responded very well in the first, after going down very early. For the most part, they were the better team up to the point they went down 2-1. From that point, they lost their energy and never really could get it back.

I watched the whole game and the Leafs outshot the Bruins overall, but I they reminded me of the Habs ... lots of shots and little finish ... very happy for Tomas Plekanec ... the guy gets ripped by a local journalist and then plays the best he has since becoming a Leaf ... honestly, I don't know if he even read the article, but he's been one of the best Leafs on the ice, of late ... Cheers.
