One way or another, this horsepuck drama will be over in two weeks.
I hope we get him in a trade that doesn't hurt us.
If not, add to the list of Francophone players who pay lipservice about playing in Quebec. Worse, he would of used Quebec as his money pawn.
Hope I'm wrong and we're looking forward to him in a Habs sweater.

The local angle means that both PLD and, more importantly, management believes he can truly produce in Montreal with this team and this coach. In the end, the Drouin trade came down to poor talent assessment on the part of Bergevin and his staff. Drouin turned out to not be a very good hockey player. Plenty of natural skill and ability but not enough hockey sense, intelligence and drive. You can say the pressure of playing in Montreal didn’t help but I’m not sure he would have been much better elsewhere. I think Tampa was perfectly fine moving him. I really don’t know how good PLD is but for that money and term there needs to be a high degree of conviction that he will live up to it. Otherwise don’t do it. JD was always short on the 'compete' part of a hockey player's equation. Far too much of a peripheral player. I don't see that with PLD. I'd like to see him on the Habs, but not at any cost. With LA in the mix (I have no idea why they would want him as they're loaded at centre (Kopitar, Danault, Byfield, Kempe, Villardi. Unless they're secretly giving up on Byfield, but Kempe is only 26, Villardi broke out last year with 42 points in 63 games and he's only 23. They need goaltending far more than a centre.

Yeah, Los Angeles makes no sense. Like you say, they are deep at centre. And the main issue they have serious cap issues. I mean, with 11 forwards, 5 d-men and 1 goalie (Copley) signed, Blake has $7 million to fill out of the roster. The Kings management has every reason to be calling about Hellebuyck and adding an additional sweetener so the Jets retain money.

That's probably what the discussions are between LA and the Jets. I hope Chevy takes Blake to the cleaners. Winnipeg needs a good infusion of young talent. I'm asking for Villardi and Brock Faber. Frankly, given all the hype about LA's farm system, to quote Tania Shain, "it don't impress me much". Everythng centres around Brandt Clarke, who seems to be a very good pick, but a lot of their other picks aren't turning out. Byfield has been slow to progress, Kupari isn't working out, Turcotte's not scoring, Bjornfot is progressing slowly. They've had a lot of high picks and the law of averages alone says they have to succeed on some, but overall, the record is pretty average.

I recognize Dubois in front, but who are the other 4 guys. Caufield is clearly not the guy behind Doubois' head. Then, there's a guy wearing dark glasses and a hat, so hard to recognize him, another guy in the backgroiund sitting, wearing a hat and turned away so you can't see his face clearly and then, finally a 4th guy staring right at the amera and smiling, but doesn't look at all like Caufield.
Is Caufield really there?
From a Tweet today, a reputable person did say that Caufield was seen with Dubois and Carey Price at some event, but that was the extent of the info.

Some shots circulated earlier in the weekend with Cole hanging out with Zegras and Jack Hughes at the F1 in Montreal. That's definitely Hughes standing up with the shades on. Probably Zegras at the back. The picture is from Caufield's instagram so he was likely the one behind the camera. No clue on those other two. Edit. PK posted a shot today hanging out with the same group. www.reddit.com/r/Habs/comments/14dl1gv/pld_and_cole_getting_close_via_subban_instagram/
