Gally and Byron close to returning with non-contact jerseys today. Because Habs fans can’t get nice things this season, we get to add Drouin and Dvorak to the injured list for a bit. Of course Drouin gets injured before the trade deadline

I don't think there would be much of a market for him right now anyway. The most popular targets would be Chiarot and Lehkonen, followed by Toffoli.
I'm not that keen on moving either Lehkonen or Toffoli, but if anyone expresses interest in 'Immovable object" David Savard, or "Freight Train" Anderson, or "Michigan" Petry, I'm all ears. (I figure exciting nicknames add to the allure of said players. I mean, who would want "Marshmallow Head" Savard?)

I'm going to miss the slackjawed look of confusion on his face as the goalie digs the puck out of the net.

Over-value leads to an over-sign. Not Savard's fault. “We wanted to make up for the loss of Shea (Weber) as best we could. I think everyone knows that Shea to irreplaceable, both on the ice and in the dressing room,” said Bergevin. “By bringing David (Savard) to Montreal, we envision a similar player on the penalty kill. He has very good size. He’s really intense. He brings toughness in front of the net. We want to build a similar quartet on defense. I think David can fill the hole left by Shea in that regard.”It's never the players fault, anyone would take the kind of money burgerbrain threw around, its the bozo who gave the contract but the player will get blamed for not living up to the contract... price, gallagher, drouin, petry, Anderson, Dvorak

McNiven out for a bit now too.

So, I wonder if Price only working out in the gym is yet another set back or part of a well defined return to play plan? This mystery seems no closer to being solved.
Chiarot practicing with the team will keep Hughes’ phone busy.
Dvorak has been snake bitten for sure this season with lots of injury pauses. He was playing better before his latest IR stint. He just needs to remain healthy down the stretch to get into a rhythm under his new coach.
And Drouin, I wonder how his latest injury is going? I am really curious as to how playing more concepts than systems will suit his style under MSL. He seems like a guy who could actually thrive under the new approach. But he needs to be healthy to see how he responds. Apparently he skated on his own today. A start.

McNiven out for a bit now too. Just seeing this today. He's only played one period, right? And now he is injured? nothing going right this season.

McNiven out for a bit now too. Just seeing this today. He's only played one period, right? And now he is injured? nothing going right this season. And now Laval is hit with it. Belzile is out for a while. Vejdemo for a few weeks. Gignac and Bourque out for a while. Baddock was traded. They are getting gutted up front. Brook just played his first game of the season on the weekend. That is nice to see. Back to McNiven, I am not sure when he is expected to return. Getting the Hamburglar likely takes the pressure off rushing him back now that Primeau is in Laval, where Poulin is also playing his best hockey of the season.

Armia is skating with a non-contact jersey too. And Corey Shueneman is back at practice as his COVID protocol stint is over.

Edmundson and Armia at practice with regular jerseys today. They will make the road trip with the team. MSL did not commit to when Edmundson will get his first game in.
Dvorak and Drouin skated on their own after main practice.

Dvorak and Drouin skated on their own after main practice. Joel E. might be rusty. It's been a long time not playing. So we have a Joel A and a Joel E. (see where I'm going?). We need to corner the market on Joel Vowels.

Hammond now on IR with a LBI. Primeau called up on emergency call up. Some guy from 3R signed to a PTO to back up Poulin in Laval. Hey McNiven, we miss ya already lol.
3 goalies on IR? What a season.

There's a site that tracks man games lost to injury, and we're way out in front this year. I believe the record is around 700 in a single season, and we're past 500 with lots of season to go. The following is as of Feb 26:

Lots of guys at full practice today. Drouin, Dvorak and Eddy still waiting for medical clearance to play.
Tyler Pitlick is in Montreal with the team, but not practicing on the ice yet after his injury. That is a potential large group of warm bodies at some point. Maybe Hughes should trade a few. 😉

No schedule for Tyler Pitlick’s return to the ice. That really was a Calgary salary dump!

It'll be interesting to see how dvorak does under Marty Yeah, he is not the quickest guy out there but has good vision and IQ. So I think he can think the game quickly. I think that type of player can flourish under Marty. I am sure there is a lot more to Dvorak than what we have all seen this gong show season so far. Between injuries and a generally dysfunctional team prior to the coaching change, he has not really been in a very good position to succeed. By the same token, Horton/HuGo and Marty don’t know what they have with him yet either.

ANY news on Price or does the fishing season extending into May? I'm asking although I'm pretty sure that Price has no intent of lacing them this season.
